The types of Veda (linga) are associated with the Tirthankaras of the fourteen spiritual predecessors.
Question - When and why do they use that specific attainment?
Answer - When there is doubt about a subtle topic, for its resolution; that is, whenever a Tirthankara of the fourteen spiritual predecessors has doubt about a profound subject and the omniscient is not present, then seeing it impossible to go elsewhere in a physical form, they use their specific attainment and create a small body as a hand-sign, which, being of auspicious material, is beautiful, and is flawless due to being created for an excellent purpose, and extremely subtle so that it is non-obstructive, meaning it does not stop anyone or get stopped by anyone. With such a body, they reach closer to the omniscient in another place, resolve their doubt, and then return to their position. This task is accomplished within an instant.
Question - Is there any other body that is gained through attainment?
Answer - No.
Question - The consumption of the Tejas body through curse and blessing indicates that it is clearly gained through attainment. Why is it said that no other body is gained through attainment?
Answer - Here, the meaning of 'gained through attainment' refers to creation, not usage. The Tejas body is not created from attainment, as are the Vaikriya and Aharaka bodies, but its usage is sometimes done from attainment. For this reason, the Tejas body is not referred to as 'gained through attainment' (artificial) here.
50. The types of Veda (linga) include Naraka and Samuchhina, which are both impersonal.
51. Devas are not impersonal.
