Chapter XVIII Prakrit Verses In Alamkāra-Ratnakara
Sobhākaramitra's Alamkararatnākara' (latter part of the 12th century or the early part of the 13th) contains not less than 167 Prakrit verses cited as illustrations of various figures of speech. The editor (Prof. Devadhar ) gratefully acknowledges the debt that he owes to his friends, Prof. K. V. Abhyankar and Prof. R.D. Wadekar who helped him in reconstructing the text of the Prakrit verses. In spite of the best efforts of the editor and his friends, the text of the Prakrit verses, as presented in the printed text, is at many places defective. In this paper an attempt is made to present the Prakrit text in its correct form by referring to their original or secondary sources, wherever, possible :

(p. 8, v. 22) कीरती च्चिअ णासइ उअए रेह व्व खलअणे मेत्ती। सा उण सुअणम्मि कआ अणहा पाहाणरेह व्व ॥ (क्रियमाणैव नश्यत्यदके रेखेव रवलजने मैत्री। सा पुनः सुजने कृता अनघा पाषाणरेखेव ॥)
