Preface ४. अनाचार. मन में किसी प्रकार का दुर्विचार उत्पन्न होना अतिक्रम | will in the mind is atikrama. To become ready for carrying out that work is है; उसकी पूर्ति के लिये प्रवृत्त होना व्यतिक्रम है; आंशिक रूप में वह | vyatikrama. To do that work partially is aticara. To do that work completely is कार्य कर लेना अतिचार है और उस कार्य को संपूर्ण रूप में करना | anācāra.One can return back by thought, speech and physically by criticizing, अनाचार है. उपरोक्त चार परिस्थितियों में से प्रथम तीन परिस्थितियों | censuring, condemning and strongly disliking towards the evil deed from first | में से तो दुष्कृत्यों के प्रति आलोचना, निंदा, गर्हा और दुर्गछा द्वारा मन, | three states out of aforesaid four states. This act of returning is pratikramana. वचन और काया से पुनः अपनी मर्यादाओं में लौटा जा सकता है. लौटने की यह क्रिया ही प्रतिक्रमण है.
जहाँ तक व्यक्ति अपूर्ण है, वहाँ तक उससे जानते या अजानते पाप As long as a man is incomplete (non-omniscience], so long he would commit होंगे ही. अपूर्ण व्यक्ति अगर कहता है कि मेरे से कभी भूल नहीं होती | sins knowingly or unknowingly. It itself will be his great faultifanincompleteman तो यह उसकी सबसे बड़ी भूल है. अपराधों का स्वीकार, पश्चात्ताप और says that faults are never committed by him. As long as three virtues -- पुनः अपराध न करने का संकल्प-ये तीन गुण जब तक व्यक्ति में नहीं | confessionoffaults, repentanceanddetermination fornotrepeating faults again, आते, तब तक वह प्रतिक्रमण की पावन क्रिया में प्रविष्ट नहीं हो सकता. | do not come in man, so long he can not enter the sacred rite of pratikramana. जब इन तीनों गुणों का व्यक्ति में विकास होगा, तभी व्यक्ति सही अर्थ | When these threevirtues developinman, then onlymancan performpratikramana में प्रतिक्रमण कर सकेगा. प्रतिक्रमण के विषय में यहाँ तक कहा गया in real terms. It is told so far regarding pratikramana that however much the heap है कि व्यक्ति के जीवन में चाहे कितने ही पापों का ढेर एकत्रित हुआ | of sin might have been accumulated in the life of a man, but if he performs हो, किन्तु अगर वह हार्दिक भाव से प्रतिक्रमण कर लेता है तो वह शीघ्र | pratikramana heartily, he soon frees himself from those sins. ही अपने उन पापों से मुक्त हो जाता है.
प्रतिक्रमण द्वारा अपने हर अपराध की अंतःकरण पूर्वक क्षमा मांगी | Pardon is begged heartily for every fault by means of pratikramana and जाती है और जीव मात्र से मैत्री पूर्ण संबंध स्थापित किये जाते हैं एवं | friendly relations are established and are made firm with each and every living|
