A letter written to the Hon. the Chief Justice, was treated as a writ petition as Public interest litigation.
The applicants claim themselves to be the followers of "Anum Swami Maharaj". The main prayer made in the application is that direction be issued to the PublicAdministration not to issue un-reasonable restrictions as and when Fairs are organised by
them.
In our view, this petition is wholly misconceived. It is the duty of the District Administration to maintain law and order and see that compliance of orders passed under statutory rules or Act are obeyed by the public. No such direction can be given as claimed by the petitioners.
Consequently, the petition is dismissed.
