એક સ્ત્રી કે જે કપડાં વેચતી હતી, તેણીને કહ્યું–શું તાર કઈ

અથ–નવરેજના દિવસમાં ઉચિત કામ કરવાં. આ નવરાજ અગત્યને તહેવાર છે, કે જે ધનરાશીમાં સૂર્ય દાખલ થાય છે, ત્યારે શરૂ થાય છે. અને તે ફરવરદીન મહીનાની શરૂઆતમાં હોય છે.
આવી જ રીતે લાભીસ્તાનના પહેલા ભાગના અંગરેજી અનુવાદના ૫. ૨૬૮ મા પેજની નેટમાં સ્પષ્ટ લખ્યું છે કે –
“The Naoroz is the first day of the year, a great festival. "
અર્થાતુ–નવરેજ એ વર્ષો પહેલો દિવસ છે, અને તે માટે તહેવારને દિવસ છે.
આથી એ સ્પષ્ટ થાય છે કે નવરેજને દિવસ તે એક (વર્ષને પહેલે દિવસ) જ, પરંતુ તેના નિમિત્તે ૧૯ દિવસ સુધી ઉત્સવ ચાલે. આ વાત આઈન-ઈ-અકબરીના પહેલા ભાગના અંગરેજી અનુવાદના ૨૭૬ મા પેજમાં આપેલા આ વાક્યથી વધારે સ્પષ્ટ થાય છે
" The new year day feast. It commences on the day when the sun in his splendour moves to Aries and lasts till the nineteenth day of the month (Farvardin ). Two days of this period are considered great festivals, when much money and numerous other things are given away as presents:
