ભક્ષણ કરવામાં તત્પર રહે છે, એ ખરેખર તેમની અજ્ઞાનતા અને નિયતાને લીધે છે. કઈ પણ મનુષ્ય, નિર્દયતા અટકાવામાં જે આંતરિક સુંદરતા રહેલી છે, તે પારખી શકતું નથી પણ ઉલટ પ્રાણિયાની કબર પિતાના દેહમાં બનાવે છે – જે શહેનશાહની ખાંધ ઉપર દુનિયાને (રાજ્યકારભારને) ભાર ન હત, તે તે માંસાહારથી તદન દૂર રહેત.”
આવી જ રીતે . વિન્સેટ સ્મીથે પણ અકબરના વિચારે ઉલ્લેખ કર્યો છે. જેમાંના આ પણ છે
" Men are so accustomed to eating meat that, were it not for the pain, they would undoubtedly fall on to themselves."
