छठा व्युत्क्रान्तिपद : प्राथमिक ] [441 समय और उत्कृष्ट 24 मुहूर्त है। यद्यपि चतुर्गतिक जीवों के प्रभेदों में सबका उपपातविरह काल और उद्वर्तनाविरहकाल 24 मुहूर्त का नहीं है, किन्तु प्रथम रत्नप्रभा नरक के उपपात एवं उद्वर्तन के विरह का काल चौबीस ही मुहूर्त है, इस दृष्टि से प्रारम्भ का पद पकड़ कर इस द्वार का नाम 'चौबीस' रखा गया है। तृतीय सान्तर द्वार-उन-उन जीवों के प्रभेदों में जीवों का उपपात और उद्वर्तन निरन्तर होता रहता है या उसमें बीच में व्यवधान (अन्तर) भी पा जाता है ? इसका स्पष्टीकरण अनेकान्त दृष्टि से इस द्वार में किया गया है कि पृथ्वीकायादि एकेन्द्रियों को छोड़कर शेष सभी जीवों का निरन्तर भी उत्पाद एवं उद्वर्तन होता रहता है और सान्तर भी / यद्यपि षट्खण्डागम के अन्तरानुगम-प्रकरण में इसका विचार किया गया है, परन्तु वहाँ इस दृष्टि से 'अन्तर' का विचार किया गया है कि एक जीव उस-उस गति आदि में भ्रमण करके उसी गति में पुन: कब प्राता है ? तथा अनेक जीवों की अपेक्षा से अन्तर है या नहीं? तथा नाना जीवों की अपेक्षा से नरक आदि में नारक जीव आदि कितने काल तक रह सकते हैं ? इस प्रकार का विचार किया गया है।' * चौथे द्वार में यह बताया गया है कि एक समय में उस-उस मति के जीवों के प्रभेदों में कितने जीवों का उपपात और उद्वर्तन होता है ? इस सम्बन्ध में वनस्पतिकाय तथा पृथ्वीकायादि एकेन्द्रियों को छोड़कर शेष समस्त जीवों में एक समय में जघन्य एक, दो या तीन तथा उत्कृष्ट संख्यात अथवा असंख्यात जीवों की उत्पत्ति तथा उद्वर्तना का निरूपण है। वनस्पतिकायिकों में स्वस्थान में निरन्तर अनन्त तथा परस्थान में निरन्तर असंख्यात का तथा पृथ्वीकायिकादि में निरन्तर असंख्यात का विधान है। * पांचवें द्वार में जीवों की प्रागति का वर्णन है। चारों गतियों के जीवों के प्रभेदों में किन-किन जीवों में से मर कर आते हैं ? अर्थात् -किस जीव में मर कर कहाँ-कहाँ उत्पन्न होने की योग्यता है ? इसका निर्णय प्रस्तुत द्वार में किया गया है / छठे द्वार में उद्वर्तना अर्थात् --जीवों के निकलने का वर्णन है। अर्थात्--कौन-से जीव मर कर कहाँ-कहाँ (किस-किस गति एवं योनि में) जाते हैं ? मर कर कहाँ उत्पन्न होते हैं ? इसका निर्णय इस द्वार में प्रस्तुत किया गया है। यद्यपि पाँचवें द्वार को उलटा करके पढ़ें तो छठे द्वार का विषय स्पष्ट हो जाता है, क्योंकि पांचवें में बताया गया है-जीव कहाँ से आते हैं ? उस पर से ही स्पष्ट हो जाता है कि जीव मर कर कहाँ जाते हैं ? तथापि स्पष्ट रूप से समझाने के लिए इस छठे द्वार का उपक्रम किया गया है। * सप्तम द्वार में बताया गया है कि जीव पर भव का अर्थात्-आगामी भव का आयुष्य कब बांधता है ? अर्थात्-किस जीव की वर्तमान प्रायु का कितना भाग शेष रहने या कितना भाग बीतने पर वह आगामी भव का आयुष्य बांधता है ? नारक और देव तथा असंख्यातवर्षायुष्क (मनुष्य-तिर्यञ्च) आगामी आयुष्यबन्ध 6 मास पूर्व ही कर लेते हैं, जबकि शेष समस्त जीव 1. षटखण्डागम पुस्तक 7, पृ. 187, 462; पुस्तक 5, अन्तरानुगमप्रकरण पृ. 1 2. षट्खण्डागम पु. 6, पृ. 418 से गति-प्रागति की चर्चा

This step describes the progress of beings. It determines which beings die and are reborn in which species of the four types of beings. In other words, it determines which beings are capable of being reborn in which places after death.
