तृतीय बहुवक्तव्यतापद] [275 को कई ज्योतिष्कदेव स्स्वथान में स्थित रहे हुए स्पर्श करते हैं, कोई वैक्रियसमुद्घात करके आत्मप्रदेशों से उनका स्पर्श करते हैं, कोई ऊर्ध्वलोक में जाते-आते उनका स्पर्श करते हैं / इस कारण दोनों प्रतरों का स्पर्श करने वाले ऊर्ध्वलोकगत देवों से असंख्यातगुणे हैं। उनसे त्रैलोक्यवर्ती ज्योतिष्क देव संख्यातगुणे अधिक हैं, क्योंकि जो ज्योतिष्कदेव तथाविध तीव्र प्रयत्नवश वैक्रिय समुद्घात करते हैं, वे तीनों लोकों को अपने प्रात्मप्रदेशों से स्पर्श करते हैं; वे स्वभावतः अत्यधिक हैं, इस कारण पूर्वोक्त देव संख्यातगणं हैं। उनसे अधोलोक-तियग्लोक प्रतरद्वय-सस्पशी ज्योतिष्कदेव असंख्यातगणं हैं; क्योंकि बहुत-से देव अधोलौकिक ग्रामों में समवसरणादिनिमित्त या अधोलोक में क्रीड़ानिमित्त जातेआते हैं, तथा बहत-से देव अधोलोक से ज्योतिष्कदेवों में उत्पन्न होने वाले होते हैं, तब वे पूर्वोक्त दोनों प्रतरों का स्पर्श करते हैं। इसलिए पूर्वोक्त देवों से ये देव असंख्यातगुणे हो जाते हैं। उनकी अपेक्षा अधोलोक में संख्यातगुणे हैं; क्योंकि बहुत-से देव अधोलोक में क्रीड़ा के लिए या अधोलौकिक ग्रामों में समवसरणादि के लिए चिरकाल तक रहते हैं। उनकी अपेक्षा तिर्यग्लोक में असंख्यातगुणे हैं, क्योंकि तिर्यग्लोक तो उनका स्वस्थान है। इसी प्रकार ज्योतिष्कदेवियों के अल्पबहुत्व का भी विचार कर लेना चाहिए। वैमानिक देव-देवियों का पृथक् पृथक् अल्पबहुत्व-क्षेत्रानुसार विचार करने पर सबसे अल्प वैमानिक देव ऊर्ध्वलोक-तिर्यग्लोक संज्ञक प्रतरद्वय में हैं, क्योंकि अधोलोक-तिर्यग्लोकवर्ती जो जीव वैमानिकों में उत्पन्न होते हैं, तथा जो वैमानिक तिर्यग्लोक में गमनागमन करते हैं, एवं जो उक्त दोनों प्रतरों में स्थित क्रीड़ास्थान में आश्रय लेकर रहते हैं, और जो तिर्यग्लोक में रहे हए ही वैक्रियसमदघात या मारणान्तिक समुदघात करते हैं, वे तथाविधप्रयत्नविशेष से अपने प्रात्मप्रदेशों को ऊर्ध्वदिशा में निकालते हैं, तब पूर्वोक्त दोनों प्रतरों का स्पर्श करते हैं, ऐसे वैमानिक देव बहुत ही अल्प होते हैं, इसलिए सबसे कम वैमानिक देव पूर्वोक्तप्रतरद्वय में हैं। उनकी अपेक्षा त्रैलोक्यवर्ती वैमानिक पूर्वोक्त युक्ति के अनुसार संख्यातगुणे अधिक हैं / उनकी अपेक्षा अधोलोक तिर्यग्लोक-संज्ञक दो प्रतरों में संख्यातगुणे हैं, क्योंकि उनका अधोलौकिक ग्रामों में तीर्थंकर समवसरणादि में गमनागमन होने से तथा उक्त दो प्रतरों में होने वाले समवसरणादि में अवस्थान के कारण बहुत-से देवों के उक्त दोनों प्रतरों का स्पर्श होता है, उनकी अपेक्षा अधोलोक तथा तिर्यग्लोक में उत्तरोत्तर क्रमशः संख्यातगुणे हैं, पूर्वोक्त युक्ति के अनुसार बहुत से देवों का उभयत्र समवसरणादि तथा क्रीडा-स्थानों में अवस्थान होता है। उनकी अपेक्षा ऊर्ध्वलोक में वे असंख्यातगुणे अधिक हैं, क्योंकि ऊर्वलोक तो उनका स्वस्थान ही है, वहाँ तो अत्यधिक होना स्वाभाविक है। वैमानिक देवियों का अल्पबहुत्व भी देवसूत्र की तरह समझ लेना चाहिए।' क्षेत्रानुसार एकेन्द्रियादि जीवों का पृथक्-पृथक् अल्पबहुत्व-(१) एकेन्द्रिय जीवों का अल्पबहुत्व-क्षेत्रानुसार चिन्तन करने पर एकेन्द्रिय, एकेन्द्रिय अपर्याप्तक एवं एकेन्द्रिय-पर्याप्तक जीव सबसे कम ऊर्ध्वलोक-तिर्यग्लोकसंज्ञक प्रतरद्वय में हैं। कई एकेन्द्रिय जीव वहीं स्थित रहते हैं. कई ऊर्ध्वलोक से तिर्यग्लोक में तथा तिर्यग्लोक से उर्ध्वलोक में उत्पन्न होने वाले जब मारणान्तिकसमुद्घात करते हैं, तब वे उक्त दोनों प्रतरों का स्पर्श करते हैं, वे बहुत अल्प होते हैं, इसलिए सबसे अल्प उक्त प्रतरद्वय में बताए गए हैं। उनकी अपेक्षा अधोलोक-तिर्यग्लोक में विशेषाधिक हैं, क्योंकि अधोलोक से तिर्यग्लोक में या तिर्यग्लोक से अधोलोक में इलिकागति से उत्पन्न होने वाले एकेन्द्रिय उक्त दोनों प्रतरों का स्पर्श करते हैं / वहीं रहने वाले एकेन्द्रिय भी ऊर्ध्वलोक से अधोलोक में अधिक होते हैं, उनसे 1. प्रज्ञापनासूत्र, मलय. वृत्ति, पत्रांक 149 से 151 तक
