द्वितीय स्थानपद ] [165 कारण (वे नगरावास) प्रशस्त रहते हैं / (उन नगरावासों पर) गोशीर्षचन्दन और सरस रक्तचन्दन से (लिप्त) पाँचों अंगुलियों (वाले हाथ) के छापे लगे होते हैं। उनके तोरण और प्रतिद्वार-देश के भाग चन्दन के घड़ों से भलीभांति निर्मित होते हैं; (वे नगरावास) ऊपर से नीचे तक लटकती हुई लम्बी विपुल एवं गोलाकार पुष्पमालाओं के समूह से युक्त होते हैं। पांच वर्षों के सरस सुगन्धित मुक्त पुष्पज से उपचार (अर्चन)-युक्त होते हैं। वे काले अगर, उत्तम चोड़ा, लोबान, गुग्गल आदि के धूप की महकती हुई सौरभ से रमणीय तथा सुगन्धित वस्तुओं की उत्तमगन्ध से सुगन्धित, मानो गन्धवट्टी (अगरबत्ती) के समान (वे नगरावास लगते हैं / ) अप्सरागण के संघों से व्याप्त, दिव्य वाद्यों की ध्वनि से निनादित, पताकानों की पंक्ति से मनोहर, सर्वरत्नमय, स्फटिकसम स्वच्छ, स्निग्ध, कोमल, घिसे, पौंछे, रजरहित, निर्मल, निष्पंक, आवरण-रहित छाया (कान्ति) वाले, प्रभायुक्त किरणों से युक्त, उद्योतयुक्त, (प्रकाशमान), प्रसन्नता उत्पन्न करने वाले, दर्शनीय, अभिरूप एवं प्रतिरूप होते हैं। इन (पूर्वोक्त नगरावासों) में पर्याप्त और अपर्याप्त वाणव्यन्तर देवों के स्थान कहे गए हैं। (वे स्थान) तीनों अपेक्षाओं से लोक के असंख्यातवें भाग में हैं; जहाँ कि बहुत-से वाणव्यन्तरदेव निवास करते हैं / वे इस प्रकार हैं १-पिशाच, २-भूत, ३–यक्ष, ४-राक्षस, ५--किन्नर, ६–किम्पुरुष, ७--महाकाय भुजगपति तथा ८-निपुणगन्धव-गीतों में अनुरक्त गन्धर्वगण / (इनके पाठ अवान्तर भेद-) १-प्रणपणिक, २–पणपणिक, ३-ऋषिवादित, ४-भूतवादित, ५-ऋन्दित, ६-महाऋन्दित, ७--कूष्माण्ड और ८–पतंगदेव / / ये अनवस्थित चित्त के होने से अत्यन्त चपल, क्रीडा-तत्पर और परिहास- (द्रव) प्रिय होते हैं / गंभीर हास्य, गीत और नृत्य में इनकी अनुरक्ति रहती है। वनमाला, कलंगी, मुकुट, कुण्डल तथा इच्छानुसार विकुर्वित आभूषणों से वे भलीभांति मण्डित रहते हैं। सभी ऋतुनों में होने वाले सुगन्धित पुष्पों से सुरचित, लम्बी, शोभनीय, सुन्दर एवं खिलती हुई विचित्र वनमाला से (उनका) वक्षस्थल सुशोभित रहता है। अपनी कामनानुसार काम-भोगों का सेवन करने वाले, इच्छानुसार रूप एवं देह के धारक, नाना प्रकार के वर्णों वाले, श्रेष्ठ, विचित्र चमकीले वस्त्रों के धारक, विविध देशों की वेशभूषा धारण करने वाले होते हैं, इन्हें प्रमोद, कन्दर्प (कामक्रीड़ा) कलह, केलि ( क्रीड़ा) और कोलाहल प्रिय है / इनमें हास्य और विवाद (बोल) बहुत होता है / इन के हाथों में खङ्ग, मुद्गर, शक्ति और भाले भी रहते हैं। ये अनेक मणियों और रत्नों के विविध चिह्न वाले होते हैं। ये महद्धिक, महाद्युतिमान, महायशस्वी, महाबली, महानुभाव या महासामर्थ्यशाली, महासुखी, हार से सुशोभित वक्षस्थल वाले होते हैं / कड़े और बाजूबंद से इनकी भुजाएँ मानो स्तब्ध रहती हैं / अंगद और कुण्डल इनके कपोलस्थल को स्पर्श किये रहते हैं / ये कानों में कर्णपीठ धारण किये रहते हैं, इनके हाथों में विचित्र आभूषण एवं मस्तक में विचित्र मालाएँ होती हैं / ये कल्याणकारी उत्तम वस्त्र पहने हुए तथा कल्याणकारी माला एवं अनुलेपन धारण किये रहते हैं / इनके शरीर अत्यन्त देदीप्यमान होते हैं। ये लम्बी वनमालाएँ धारण करते हैं तथा दिव्य वर्ण से, दिव्य गन्ध से, दिव्य स्पर्श से, दिव्य संहनन से, दिव्य संस्थान (आकृति) से, दिव्य ऋद्धि से, दिव्य युति से, दिव्य प्रभा से, दिव्य छाया (कान्ति) से दिव्य अचि (ज्योति) से, दिव्य तेज से एवं दिव्य लेश्या से दशों दिशाओं को उद्योतित एवं प्रभासित करते हुए वे (वाणव्यन्तर देव) वहाँ (पूर्वोक्त स्थानों में) अपने-अपने लाखों भौमेय नगरावासों का, अपने-अपने हजारों सामानिक देवों का, अपनी
