द्वितीय स्थानपद] [155 [180-1 प्र.] भगवन् ! उत्तरदिशा में पर्याप्त और अपर्याप्त असुरकुमार देवों के स्थान कहाँ कहे गए हैं ? भगवन् ! उत्तरदिशा के असुरकुमार देव कहाँ निवास करते हैं ? [180-1 उ.] गौतम ! जम्बूद्वीप नामक द्वीप में, सुमेरुपर्वत के उत्तर में, एक लाख अस्सी हजार योजन मोटो इस रत्नप्रभापृथ्वी के ऊपर एक हजार योजन अवगाहन करके तथा नीचे (भी) एक हजार योजन छोड़ कर, मध्य में एक लाख अठहत्तर हजार योजन प्रदेश में, वहाँ उत्तरदिशा के असुरकुमार देवों के तीस लाख भवनावास हैं, ऐसा कहा गया है। वे भवन (भवनावास) बाहर से गोल और अन्दर से चौरस (चौकोर) हैं, शेष सब वर्णन यावत् विचरण करते हैं (विहरंति) तक, दाक्षिणात्य असुर कुमार देवों के समान (सूत्र 176-1 के अनुसार) जानना चाहिए। [2] बली यऽथ वरोर्याणदे वइरोयणराया परिवसति काले महानोलसरिसे जाव (सु. 178 [2]) पभासेमाणे। से तत्थ तीसाए भवणावाससयसहस्साणं सट्टीए सामाणियसाहस्सीणं तावत्तीसाए तायत्तीसगाणं चउण्हं लोगपालाणं पंचण्हं अम्गमर्माहसीणं सपरिवाराणं तिहं परिसाणं सत्तण्हं प्रणियाणं सत्तण्हं अणियाधिवतीणं चउण्ह य सट्ठीणं प्रायरक्खदेवसाहस्सीणं अण्णेसि च बहूणं उत्तरिल्लाणं असुरकुमाराणं देवाण य देवीण य ाहेवच्चं पोरेवच्चं कुबमाणे विहरति / [180-2] इन्हीं (पूर्वोक्त स्थानों) में वैरोचनेन्द्र वैरोचनराज बलीन्द्र निवास करता है, (जो) कृष्णवर्ण है, महानीलसदृश है, इत्यादि समग्र वर्णन यावत् 'प्रभासित-सुशोभित करता हुआ' ('पभासमाणे' तक सूत्र 178-2 से अनुसार समझना चाहिए।) वह वहाँ तीस लाख भवनावासों का, साठ हजार सामानिक देवों का, तैतीस त्रायस्त्रिशक देवों का, चार लोकपालों का, सपरिवार पांच अग्रमहिषियों का, तीन परिषदों का, सात सेनाओं का, सात सेनाधिपति देवों का, चार साठ हजार अर्थात् दो लाख चालीस हजार आत्मरक्षक देवों का तथा और भी बहुत-से उत्तरदिशा के असुरकुमार देवों और देवियों का आधिपत्य एवं पुरोत्तित्व (अग्रेसरत्व) करता हुआ विचरण करता है। 181. [1] कहि णं भंते ! णागकुमाराणं देवाणं पज्जत्ताऽपज्जत्ताणं ठाणा पणत्ता? कहि गं भंते ! णागकुमारा देवा परिवसंति ? गोयमा ! इमोसे रयणप्पभाए पुढवीए प्रसीउत्तरजोयणसयसहस्सबाहल्लाए उरि एगं जोयणसहस्सं प्रोगाहित्ता हेट्ठा वेगं जोयणसहस्सं वज्जिऊण मज्झे अट्ठहत्तरे जोयणसयसहस्से, एत्थ णं णागकुमाराणं देवाणं पज्जत्ताऽपज्जत्ताणं चुलसीइ भवणावाससयसहस्सा हवंतीति मयखातं / ते णं भवणा बाहिं वट्टा अंतो चउरसा जाव (सु. 177) पडिरूवा / तस्थ णं णागकुमाराणं देवाणं पज्जत्ताऽपज्जत्ताणं ठाणा पण्णत्ता। तिसु वि लोगस्स असंखेज्जइभागे / तत्थ णं बहवे णागकुमारा देवा परिवसंति महिड्डीया महाजुतीया, सेसं जहा प्रोहियाणं (सु. 177) जाव विहरति / [181-1 प्र.] भगवन् ! पर्याप्त और अपर्याप्त नागकुमार देवों के स्थान कहाँ कहे गए हैं ? भगवन् ! नागकुमार देव कहाँ निवास करते हैं ?
