[178-1 उ.] गौतम ! एक लाख अस्सी हजार योजन मोटी इस रत्नप्रभापृथ्वी के ऊपर एक हजार योजन अवगाहन करके और नीचे एक हजार योजन (प्रदेश) छोड़ कर, बीच में (स्थित) जो एक लाख अठहत्तर हजार योजन (प्रदेश है,) वहाँ असुरकुमारदेवों के चौंसठ लाख भवन-पावास हैं, ऐसा कहा गया है। वे भवन (भवनावास) बाहर से गोल, अंदर से चौरस (चौकोर), और नीचे से पुष्कर-(नीलकमल) कणिका के आकार में संस्थित हैं / (उन भवनों के चारों ओर) गहरी और विस्तीर्ण खाइयाँ और परिखाएँ खुदी हुई हैं, जिनका अन्तर स्पष्ट (प्रतीत होता) है। (यथास्थान) प्राकारों (परकोटों), अटारियों, कपाटों, तोरणों और प्रतिद्वारों से भवनों के एकदेशभाग सुशोभित होते हैं, (तथा वे भवन) यंत्रों, शतघ्नियों (महाशिलाओं या महायष्टियों), मूसलों और मुसुण्ढी नामक शस्त्रों से (चारों ओर से) वेष्टित (घिरे हुए) होते हैं; तथा शत्रुओं द्वारा अयोध्य (युद्ध न कर सकने योग्य), सदाजय, सदागुप्त (सदैव सुरक्षित) तथा अड़तालीस कोठों से रचित, अड़तालीस वनमालाओं से सुसज्जित, क्षेममय, शिवमय, किंकर-देवों के दण्डों से उपरक्षित हैं / (गोबर आदि से) लीपने और (चूने आदि से) पोतने के कारण (वे भवन) प्रशस्त रहते हैं। (उन भवनों पर) गोशीर्षचन्दन और सरस रक्तचन्दन से (लिप्त) पांचों अंगुलियों (वाले हाथ) के छापे लगे होते हैं; (यथास्थान) चन्दन के (मांगल्य य) कलश रखे होते हैं। उनके तोरण और प्रतिद्वारदेश के भाग चन्दन के घड़ों से सुशोभित (सुकृत) होते हैं। (वे भवन) ऊपर से नीचे तक लटकती हुई लम्बी विपुल एवं गोलाकार पुष्पमालाओं के समूह से युक्त होते हैं ; तथा पंचरंगे ताजे सरस सुगन्धित पुष्पों के द्वारा उपचार से भी युक्त होते हैं / (वे भवन) काले अगर, श्रेष्ठ चीड़ा, लोबान तथा धूप की महकती हुई सुगन्ध से रमणीय, उत्तम सुगन्ध से सुगन्धित, गन्धवट्टी (अगरबत्ती) के समान लगते हैं। (वे भवन) अप्सरागण के संघों से व्याप्त,
