[2086 उ.] गौतम ! समुदघात सात कहे हैं / यथा-(१) वेदनासमुद्घात, (2) कषायसमुद्घात, (3) मारणान्तिकसमुद्घात, (4) वैक्रियसमुद्घात, (5) तैजससमुद्घात, (6) आहारकसमुद्घात और (7) केवलिसमुद्घात / विवेचन-समुद्घात : स्वरूप और प्रकार-समुद्घात में सम+ उद्+घात, ये तीन शब्द हैं। इनका व्याकरणानुसार अर्थ होता है-सम्—एकोभावपूर्वक, उत्-प्रबलता से, घात-घात करना। तात्पर्य यह हुआ कि एकाग्रतापूर्वक प्रबलता के साथ घात करना / भावार्थ यह है कि वेदना आदि के साथ उत्कृष्ट रूप से एकीभूत हो जाना / फलितार्थ यह हुआ कि वेदना प्रादि समुद्घात के समय प्रात्मा वेदनादिज्ञानरूप में परिणत हो जाता है, उसे अन्य कोई भान नहीं रहता। जब जीव वेदनादि समुद्घातों में परिणत होता है, तब कालान्तर में अनुभव करने योग्य वेदनीयादि कर्मों के प्रदेशों को उदीरणाकरण के द्वारा खींचकर, उदयावलिका में डालकर, उनका अनुभव करके निर्जीर्ण कर डालता है, अर्थात्-आत्मप्रदेशों से पृथक कर देता है। यही घात की प्रबलता है। पूर्वकृत कर्मों का झड़ जाना, अात्मा से पृथक् हो जाना ही निर्जरा है। समुद्घात सात प्रकार के हैं-(१) वेदना, (2) कषाय, (3) मारणांतिक, (4) वैक्रिय, (5) तेजस, (6) आहारक और (7) केवली। कौन समुद्धात किस कर्म के आश्रित है ? –इनमें से वेदनासमुद्घात असातावेदनीय-कर्माश्रय है, कषायसमुद्घात चारित्रमोहनीय-कर्माश्रय है, मारणान्तिकसमुद्घात अन्तर्मुहूर्त शेष आयुष्यकर्माश्रय है, वैक्रियसमुदघात वैक्रियशरीरनाम-कर्माश्रय है, तैजससमुद्घात तैजसशरीरनाम-कर्माश्रय है,
