[जीवाजीवाभिगमसूत्र इन बादर पृथ्वीकायिकों में जो पर्याप्त जीव हैं, उनमें वर्णभेद से, गंधभेद से, रसभेद से और स्पर्शभेद से हजारों प्रकार हो जाते हैं। जैसे कि- वर्ण के 5, गंध के 2, रस के 5 और स्पर्श के 8 / एक-एक काले प्रादि वर्ण के तारतम्य से अनेक प्रवान्तर भेद भी हो जाते हैं। कोयला, कज्जल आदि काले हैं किन्तु इन सबकी कालिमा में न्यूनाधिकता है, इसी तरह नील मादि वर्गों में भी समझना चाहिए / इसी तरह गन्ध, रस और स्पर्श को लेकर भी भेद समझ लेने चाहिए। इसी तरह वर्गों के परस्पर संयोग से भी धूसर, कर्बर आदि अनेक भेद हो जाते हैं। इसी तरह गन्धादि के संयोग से भी कई भेद हो जाते हैं। इसलिए कहा गया है कि वर्णादि की अपेक्षा हजारों भेद हो जाते हैं।। इन बादर पृथ्वीकायिकों की संख्यात लाख योनियाँ हैं। एक-एकवर्ण, गन्ध. रस मोर स्पर्श में पृथ्वीकायिकों की संवृतयोनि तीन प्रकार की हैं—सचित्त, अचित्त और मिश्र / इनमें से प्रत्येक के शीत, उष्ण, शीतोष्ण के भेद से तीन-तीन प्रकार हैं / शीतादि के भी तारतम्य से अनेक भेद हैं / केवल एक विशिष्ट वर्ण काले संख्यात होते हुए भी स्वस्थान में व्यक्तिभेद होते हुए भी योनि-जाति को लेकर एक ही योनि गिनी जाती है / ऐसी संख्यात लाख योनियां पृथ्वीकाय में हैं / सूक्ष्म और बादर सब पृथ्वीकायों की सात लाख योनियां कही गई हैं। ये बादर पृथ्वीकायिक जीव एक पर्याप्तक की निश्रा में असंख्यात अपर्याप्त उत्पन्न होते हैं। जहाँ एक पर्याप्त है वहाँ उसकी निश्रा में नियम से असंख्येय अपर्याप्त होते हैं। इन बादर पृथ्वीकायिक जीवों के शरीर, अवगाहना आदि द्वारों का विचार पूर्ववणित सूक्ष्म पृथ्वीकायिकों के समान कहना चाहिए। जो विशेषता और अन्तर है उसी का उल्लेख यहाँ किया गया है / निम्न द्वारों में विशेषता जाननी चाहिए लेण्याद्वार-सूक्ष्म पृथ्वीकायिकों में तीन लेश्याएँ कही गई थीं। बादर पृथ्वीकायिकों में चार लेश्याएं जाननी चाहिए / उनमें तेजोलेश्या भी होती है। व्यन्तरदेवों से लेकर ईशान देवलोक तक के देव अपने भवन और विमानों में अति मूर्छा होने के कारण अपने रत्न कुण्डलादि में उत्पन्न होते हैं, वे तेजोलेश्या वाले भी होते हैं / आगम का वाक्य है कि 'जल्लेसे मरइ सल्लेसे उववज्जई' जिस लेश्या में मरण होता है, उसी लेश्या में जन्म होता है। इसलिए थोड़े समय के लिए अपर्याप्त मवस्था में तेजोलेश्या भी उनमें पाई जाती है। माहारद्वार-बादर पृथ्वीकायिक जीव नियम से छहों दिशाओं से आहार ग्रहण करते हैं। क्योंकि बादर जीव नियम से लोकमध्य में ही उत्पन्न होते हैं, किनारे नहीं / इसलिए व्याघात का प्रश्न ही नहीं रहता। उपपातद्वार-देवों से प्राकर भी बादर पृथ्वीकायिक में जन्म होता है। इसलिए तिर्यच, मनुष्य और देवों से पाकर बादर पृथ्वीकाय में जन्म हो सकता है। स्थिति- इनकी स्थिति जघन्य अन्तर्मुहुर्त और उत्कृष्ट बावीस हजार वर्ष की है। गति-आगतिद्वार-देवों से भी इनमें आना होता है इसलिए इनकी तीन गतियों से प्रागति है और दो गतियों में गति है।
