[53 प्रथम प्रतिपत्ति : पृथ्वीकाय का वर्णन] 1 काली मिट्टी, 2 नीली मिट्टी, 3 लाल मिट्टी, 4 पीली मिट्टी 5 सफेद मिट्टी 6 पांडु मिट्टी और 7 पणग मिट्टी-ये सात प्रकार की मिट्टियां श्लक्ष्ण बादर पृथ्वी हैं / इनमें रहे हुए जीव एलक्ष्ण बादर पृथ्वीकायिक जीव हैं / वर्ण के भेद से पूर्व के 5 भेद स्पष्ट ही हैं। पांडु मिट्टी वह है जो देशविशेष में मिट्टीरूप होकर पांडु नाम से प्रसिद्ध है। पनकमृत्तिका का अर्थ टीकाकार ने इस प्रकार किया है ---नदी आदि में पूर पाने और उसके उतरने के बाद भूमि में जो मृदु पंक शेष रह जाता है, जिसे 'जलमल' भी कहते हैं वह पनकमृत्तिका है। उसमें रहे हुए जीव भी उपचार से पनकमृत्तिका श्लक्ष्ण बादर पृथ्वीकायिक कहलाते हैं। खरबादर पृथ्वीकायिकः-खर बादर पृथ्वीकायिक अनेक प्रकार के कहे गये हैं। मुख्यतया चार गाथाओं में चालीस प्रकार बताये गये हैं।' वे इस प्रकार-१ शुद्धपृथ्वी-नदीतट भित्ति 2 शर्करा--छोटे कंकर आदि 3 बालुका-रेत 4 उपल-टांकी आदि उपकरण तेज करने का (सान बढ़ाने का) पाषाण 5 शिला-घड़ने योग्य बड़ा पाषाण 6 लवण---नमक प्रादि 7 ऊस-खारवाली मिट्टी जिससे जमीन ऊसर हो जाती है 8 लोहा 9 तांबा 10 रांगा 11 सोसा 12 चाँदी 13 सोना 14 वज-हीरा 15 हरताल 16 हिंगलु 17 मनःशिला 18 सासग-पारा 19 अंजन 20 प्रवाल-विद्रुम 21 अभ्रपटल-अभ्रक-भोडल 22 अभ्रबालुका---अभ्रक मिली हुई रेत और (नाना प्रकार की मणियों के 18 प्रकार जैसे कि) 23 गोमेज्जक 24 रुचक 25 अंक 26 स्फटिक 27 लोहिताक्ष 28 मरकत 29 भुजमोचक 30 मसारगल 31 इन्द्रनील 32 चन्दन 33 गैरिक 34 हंसगर्भ 35 पुलक 36 सौगंधिक 37 चन्द्रप्रभ 38 वैडूर्य 39 जलकान्त और 40 सूर्यकान्त / उक्त रीति से मुख्यतया खर बादर पृथ्वीकाय के 40 भेद बताने के पश्चात् 'जे यावण्णे तहप्पगारा' कहकर अन्य भी पद्मराग आदि का सूचन कर दिया गया है / ये बादर पृथ्वीकायिक संक्षेप से दो प्रकार के कहे गये हैं पर्याप्त और अपर्याप्त / जिन जीवों ने स्वयोग्य पर्याप्तियां पूरी नहीं की हैं उनके वर्णादि विशेष स्पष्ट नहीं होते हैं अतएव उनका काले आदि विशेष वर्णों से कथन नहीं हो सकता। शरीर आदि पर्याप्तियाँ पूर्ण होने पर ही बादर जीवों में वर्णादि प्रकट होते हैं। ये अपर्याप्त जीवन उच्छ्वास पर्याप्ति पूर्ण करने के पूर्व ही मर जाते हैं अतः इन अपर्याप्तों के विशेष वर्णादि का कथन नहीं किया जा सकता / सामान्य विवक्षा में तो शरीरपर्याप्ति पूर्ण होते ही वर्णादि होते ही हैं। अतएव अपर्याप्तों में विशेष वर्णादि न होने का कथन किया गया है / सामान्य वर्णादि तो होते ही हैं। 1. पुढवी य सकरा वालुया य उवले सिला य लोणूसे / तंबा य तउय सीसय रुप्प सुवष्णे य वइरे य॥१॥ हरियाले हिंगुलए मणोसिला सासगंजणपवाले / अभ पडलम्भवालुय वायरकाये मणिविहाणा / / 2 / / गोमेज्जए य रुयए अंके फलिहे य लोहियक्खे य / मरगय मसारमल्ले भुयभोयग इंदनीले य // 3 // चंदण गेश्य हंसे पुलए सोगंधिए य बोद्धम् / चंदप्पभ वेरुलिए जलकते सूरकते य // 4 // ---प्रज्ञापना, सूत्र-१५
