प्रथम प्रतिपत्ति: पृथ्वीकाय का वर्णन] अथवा उदार अर्थात् स्थूल पुद्गलों से बना हुआ शरीर औदारिक है। जो शरीर सड़न-गलन स्वभाव वाला है, जिसका छेदन-भेदन किया जा सकता है, जिसमें त्वचा, रक्त, मांस, अस्थि आदि हों, वह औदारिक शरीर है। वैकियशरीर--जो शरीर विविध या विशिष्ट रूपों में परिवर्तित किया जा सकता है, वह वैक्रिय शरीर है / जो एक होकर अनेक हो जाता हो, अनेक होकर एक हो जाता हो, छोटे से बड़ा, बड़े से छोटा हो जाता हो, खेचर से भूचर और भूचर से खेचर, दृश्य से अदृश्य और अदृश्य से दृश्य हो सकता हो, वह वैक्रिय शरीर है / यह शरीर दो प्रकार का है-औपपातिक और लब्धिप्रत्ययिक / देवों और नारकों को जन्म से जो शरीर प्राप्त होता है वह औपपातिक वैक्रिय शरीर है। तथा किन्हीं विशिष्ट मनुष्य-तियंञ्चों को लब्धि के प्रभाव से विविध रूप बनाने की शक्ति प्राप्त होती है वह लब्धिजन्य वैक्रिय शरीर है / बादर वायुकायिक जीवों में भी कृत्रिम लब्धिजन्य वक्रिय शरीर माना गया है / इस शरीर की रचना में रक्त,मांस, अस्थि आदि नहीं होते। सड़न-गलन धर्म भी नहीं होते / औदारिक की अपेक्षा इसके प्रदेश प्रमाण में असंख्यातगुण अधिक होते हैं किन्तु सूक्ष्म होते हैं / __आहारकशरीर-चौदह पूर्वधारी मुनि तीर्थंकर की ऋद्धि-महिमा दर्शन के लिए तथा अन्य इसी प्रकार के प्रयोजन होने पर विशिष्ट लब्धि द्वारा जिस शरीर की रचना करते हैं, वह आहारक' है। विशिष्ट प्रयोजन बताते हुए कहा गया है कि-२ प्राणिदया, ऋद्धिदर्शन, सूक्ष्मपदार्थों को जानकारी के लिए और संशय के निवारण के लिए चतुर्दशपूर्वधारी मुनि अपनी लब्धिविशेष से एक हस्तप्रमाण सूक्ष्मशरीर बनाकर तीर्थंकर भगवान के पास भेजते हैं। यह सूक्ष्मशरीर अत्यन्त शुभ स्वच्छ स्फटिकशिला की तरह शुभ्र पुद्गलों से रचा जाता है। इस शरीर की रचना कर चौदह पूर्वधारी मुनि महाविदेह प्रादि क्षेत्र में विचरते हुए तीर्थंकर भगवान् के पास भेजते हैं। यदि तीर्थकर भगवान् वहाँ से अन्यत्र विचरण कर गये हों तो उस एक हस्तप्रमाण से मुंड हस्तप्रमाण पुतला निकलता है जो तीर्थकर भगवान जहाँ होते हैं वहाँ पहुँच जाता है। वहाँ से प्रश्नादि का समाधान लेकर एक हस्तप्रमाण शरीर में प्रवेश करता है और वह एक हस्तप्रमाण शरीर चौदह पूर्वधारी मुनि के शरीर में प्रविष्ट हो जाता है। इससे चौदह पूर्वधारी का प्रयोजन पूरा हो जाता है। एक अन्तर्मुहूर्त काल में यह सब प्रक्रिया हो जाती है / इस प्रकार को शरीर-रचना आहारक शरीर है। यह आहारक शरीर लोक में कदाचित् सर्वथा नहीं भी होता है / इसके अभाव का काल जघन्य एक समय और उत्कृष्ट छह मास है। तेजसशरीर-जो शरीर तेजोमय होने से खाये हुए आहार आदि के परिपाक का हेतु और दीप्ति का कारण हो वह तेजसशरीर है। जैसे कृषक खेत के क्यारों में अलग-अलग पानी पहुंचाता है इसी तरह यह शरीर ग्रहण किये हुए आहार को रसादि में परिणत कर अवयव-अवयव में पहुँचाता है / विशिष्ट तप से प्राप्त लब्धिविशेष से किसी किसी पुरुष को तेजोलेश्या निकालने की लब्धि 1. माह्नियते-निर्वत्त्यते इत्याहारकम् / 2 कज्जाम्मि सम्प्पन्ने सूयकेवलिणा विमिटलद्धीए / जं एत्थ प्राहारेज्जइ भणंति प्राहारगं तं तु / /
