पुष्करोदसमुद्र को व्यक्तव्यता] [57 पुक्खरोदे गं भंते ! समुद्दे केवइया चंदा पभासिसु वा 3 ? संखेज्जा चंदा पभासेंसु वा 3 जाव तारागणकोडीकोडीओ सो सु वा 3 / 180. (अ) गोल और वलयाकार संस्थान से संस्थित पुष्करोद नाम का समुद्र पुष्करवरद्वीप को सब प्रोर से घेरे हुए स्थित है। भगवन् ! पुष्करोदसमुद्र का चक्रवालविष्कंभ कितना है और उसकी परिधि कितनी है ? गौतम ! संख्यात लाख योजन का उसका चक्रवालविष्कभ है और संख्यात लाख योजन की हो उसकी परिधि है / (वह पुष्करीद एक पद्मवरवेदिका और एक वनखण्ड से सब अोर से घिरा हुआ है।) भगवन् ! पुष्करोदसमुद्र के कितने द्वार हैं ? गौतम ! चार द्वार हैं आदि पूर्ववत् कथन करना चाहिए यावत् पुष्करोदसमुद्र के पूर्वी पर्यन्त में और वरुणवरद्वीप के पूर्वार्ध के पश्चिम में पुष्करोदसमुद्र का विजयद्वार है (जम्बूद्वीप के विजयद्वार की तरह सब कथन करना चाहिए / ) यावत् राजधानी अन्य पुष्करोदसमुद्र में कह्नी चाहिए। इसी प्रकार शेष द्वारों का भो कथन कर लेना चाहिए। इन द्वारों का परस्पर अन्तर संख्यात लाख योजन का है। प्रदेशस्पर्श संबंधी तथा जीवों की उत्पत्ति का कथन भी पूर्ववत् कह लेना चाहिए। भगवन् ! पुष्करोदसमुद्र, पुष्करोदसमुद्र क्यों कहा जाता है ? गौतम ! पुष्करोदसमुद्र का पानी स्वच्छ, पथ्यकारी, जातिवंत (विजातीय नहीं), हल्का, स्फटिकरत्न को प्राभा वाला तथा स्वभाव से ही उदकरस वाला (मधुर) है। श्रीधर और श्रीप्रभ नाम के दो महद्धिक यावत् पत्योपम की स्थिति वाले देव वहां रहते हैं। इससे उसका जल वैसे ही सुशोभित होता है जैसे चन्द्र-सूर्य और ग्रह-नक्षत्रों से प्राकाश सुशोभित होता है / ) इसलिए पुष्करोद, पुष्करोद कहलाता है यावत् वह नित्य होने से अनिमित्तिक नाम वाला भी है। भगवन् ! पुष्करोदसमुद्र में कितने चन्द्र प्रभासित होते थे, होते हैं और होंगे आदि प्रश्न पूर्ववत् करना चाहिए ? गौतम ! संख्यात चन्द्र प्रभासित होते थे, होते हैं और होंगे प्रादि पूर्ववत् कथन करना चाहिए यावत् संख्यात कोटि-कोटि तारागण वहां शोभित होते थे, होते हैं और शोभित होंगे। 180, (आ) पुक्खरोदे गं समुद्दे वरुणवरेणं दीवेणं संपरिक्खित्ते वट्टे वलयागारे जाव चिट्ठइ, तहेव समचक्कवालसंठिए। केवइयं चक्कवालविक्खंभेणं ? केवइयं परिक्खेवेणं पण्णते ? गोयमा! संखेज्जाई जोयणसयसहस्साइं चक्कवालविक्खंभेणं संखेज्जाई जोयणसयसहस्साई परिक्खेवेणं पण्णत्ते, पउमवरवेइयावणसंडवण्णनो / दारंतरं, पएसा, जीवा तहेव सव्वं / से केणठेणं भंते ! एवं वुच्चइ-वरुणवरे दीवे वरुणवरे दीवे ?
