तृतीय प्रतिपत्ति : गोतीर्थ-प्रतिपादन] [29 लवणस्स णं भंते ! समुदस्स केमहालए गोतित्थविरहिए खेते पण्णते ? गोयमा ! लवणस्स णं समुदस्स दसजोयणसहस्साई गोतित्यविरहिए खेत्ते पण्णत्ते। लवणस्स गं भंते ! समुदस्स केमहालए उदगमाले पण्णते? गोयमा! बस जोयणसहस्साई उदगमाले पण्णत्ते। 171. हे भगवन् ! लवणसमुद्र का' गोतीर्थ भाग कितना बड़ा है ? (क्रमशः नीचा-नीचा गहराई वाला भाग गोतीर्थ कहलाता है।) हे गौतम ! लवणसमुद्र के दोनों किनारों पर 95 हजार योजन का गोतीर्थ है। (क्रमश: नीचा-नीचा गहरा होता हुआ भाग है।) हे भगवन् ! लवणसमुद्र का कितना बड़ा भाग गोतीर्थ से विरहित कहा गया है ? हे गौतम ! लवणसमुद्र का दस हजार योजन प्रमाणक्षेत्र गोतीर्थ से विरहित है / (अर्थात् इतना दस हजार योजन प्रमाण क्षेत्र समतल है।) हे गौतम! लवणसमुद्र को उदकमाला (समपानी पर सोलह हजार योजन ऊँचाई वाली जलमाला) कितनी बड़ी है ? ___ गौतम ! उदकमाला दस हजार योजन की है। (जितना गहराई रहित भाग है, उस पर रही हुई जलराशि को उदकमाला कहते हैं / ) 172. लवणे णं भंते ! समुद्दे किसंठिए पण्णते ? गोयमा! गोतित्थसंठिए, नावासंठाणसंठिए, सिप्पिसंपुडसंठिए, आसखंधसंठिए, वलभिसंठिए घट्टे बलयागारसंठाणसंठिए पण्णत्ते। लवणे णं भंते ! समुद्दे केवइयं चक्कवालविक्खंभेणं ? केवइयं परिक्खेवेणं ? केवइयं उन्हेणं ? केवइयं उस्सेहणं ? केवइयं सव्वग्गेणं पण्णत्ते ? गोयमा! लवणे णं समुद्दे दो जोयणसयसहस्साई चक्कवालविषखंभेणं, पण्णरस जोयणसयसहस्साई एकासीइं च सहस्साई सयं च इगुकालं किंचिविसेसूणे परिक्खेवेणं, एमं जोयणसहस्सं उब्वेहेणं, सोलसजोयणसहस्साई उस्सेहेणं सत्तरसजोयणसहस्साई सम्वग्गेणं पण्णत्ते / 172. हे भगवन् ! लवणसमुद्र का संस्थान कैसा है ? गौतम ! लवणसमुद्र गोतीर्थ के प्राकार का, नाव के आकार का, सीप के पुट के आकार का, घोड़े के स्कंध के आकार का, वलभीगृह के आकार का, वर्तुल और वलयाकार संस्थान वाला है / 1. गोतीर्थमेव गोतीर्थम-क्रमेण नीचो नीचतरः प्रवेशमार्गः / 2. "पंचाणउई सहस्से गोतित्थे उभयनो वि लवणस्स।" 3. उदकमाला-समपानीयोपरिभूता षोडशयोजनसहस्रोच्छ्या प्रज्ञप्ता।
