तृतीय प्रतिपति : ज्योतिष्क देवों के विमानों का वर्णन [341 उक्त दो-दो इन्द्रों में से प्रथम दक्षिणदिशावर्ती देवों का इन्द्र है और दूसरा उत्तरदिशावर्ती वानव्यन्तर देवों का इन्द्र है। यहाँ वानव्यन्तर देवों का अधिकार पूरा होता है। मागे ज्योतिष्क देवों की जानकारी दी गई है। ज्योतिष्क देवों के विमानों का वर्णन 122. कहि णं भंते ! जोइसियाणं देवाणं विमाणा पण्णता ? कहि गं भंते जोइसिया देवा परिवसंति ? गोयमा ! उप्पि दीवसमुद्दाणं इमोसे रयणप्पभाए पुढवीए बहुसमरमणिज्माओ भूमिभागाओ ससणउए जोयणसए उड्ढं उप्पइत्ता दसुत्तरसया जोयणवाहल्लेणं, तत्थ णं जोइसियाणं देवाणं तिरियमसंखेजा जोतिसियविमाणावाससयसहस्सा भवंतीतिमक्खायं / ते गं विमाणा अखकविटकसंठाणसंठिया एवं जहा ठाणपदे जाव चंदिमसूरिया य तत्थ गं जोइसिंदा जोइसरायाणो परिवसंति महिड्डिया जाव विहरति / / सूरस्स णं भंते ! जोतिसिंदस्स जोतिसरण्णो कति परिसाओ पण्णत्ताओ? गोयमा ! तिणि परिसाओ पण्णसाओ, तं जहा-तुंबा, सुडिया, पेच्चा / अम्भितरिया तुंबा, ममिमिया, तुडिया, बाहिरिया पेच्चा / सेसं जहा कालस्स परिमाणं ठिई वि / अट्ठो जहा चमरस्स। चंवस्स वि एवं घेव। [122] हे भगवन् ! ज्योतिष्क देवों के विमान कहां रहे गये हैं / हे भगवन् ! ज्योतिष्क देव कहाँ रहते हैं ? __ गौतम ! द्वीपसमुद्रों से ऊपर और इस रत्नप्रभापृथ्वी के बहुत समतल एवं रमणीय भूमिभाग से सात सौ नब्बे भोजन ऊपर जाने पर एक सौ दस योजन प्रमाण ऊचाईरूप क्षेत्र में तिरछे ज्योतिष्क देवों के असंख्यात लाख विमानावास कहे गये हैं। (ऐसा मैंने और अन्य पूर्ववर्ती तीर्थंकरों ने कहा है)। वे विमान प्राधे कबीठ के आकार के हैं—इत्यादि जैसा वर्णन स्थानपद में किया है वैसा यहाँ भी कहना यावत् वहां ज्योतिष्केन्द्र ज्योतिष्कराज चन्द्र और सूर्य दो इन्द्र रहते हैं जो महद्धिक यावत् दिव्यभोगों का उपभोग करते हुए विचरते हैं। हे भगवन् ! ज्योतिष्केन्द्र ज्योतिष्कराज सूर्य की कितनी परिषदाएँ हैं ? गौतम ! तीन परिषदाएँ कही गई हैं, यथा-तुंबा, त्रुटिता और प्रेत्या / प्राभ्यन्तर परिषदा का नाम तुंबा है, मध्यम परिषदा का नाम त्रुटिता है और बाह्य परिषद् का नाम प्रेत्या है। शेष वर्णन काल इन्द्र की तरह जानना। उनका परिमाण (देव-देवी संख्या) और स्थिति भी वैसी ही जानना चाहिए / परिषद् का अर्थ चमरेन्द्र की तरह जानना चाहिए / सूर्य की वक्तव्यता के अनुसार चन्द्र की भी वक्तव्यता जाननी चाहिए। विवेचन-इस रत्नप्रभा पृथ्वी के अत्यन्त सम एवं रमणीय भूभाग से सात सौ नब्बे (790)
