तृतीय प्रतिपत्ति: एकोषक द्वीप के पुरुषों का वर्णन [315 समुदाय), ग्रहापसव (ग्रहों का वक्री होना), मेघों का उत्पन्न होना, वृक्षाकार मेघों का होना, सन्ध्यालाल-नीले बादलों का परिणमन, गन्धर्वनगर (बादलों का नगरादि रूप में परिणमन), गर्जना, बिजली चमकना, उल्कापात (बिजली गिरना), दिग्दाह (किसी एक दिशा का एकदम अग्निज्वाला जैसा भयानक दिखना), निर्घात (बिजली का कड़कना), धूलि बरसना, यूपक (सन्ध्याप्रभा और चन्द्रप्रभा का मिश्रण होने पर सन्ध्या का पता न चलना), यक्षादीप्त (आकाश में अग्निसहित पिशाच का रूप दिखना), धूमिका (धुंधर), महिका (जलकणयुक्त धुंधर), रज-उद्घात (दिशाओं में धूल भर जाना), चन्द्रग्रहण, सूर्यग्रहण चन्द्र के आसपास मण्डल का होना, सूर्य के आसपास मण्डल का होना, दो चन्द्रों का दिखना, दो सूर्यों का दिखना, इन्द्रधनुष, उदकमत्स्य (इन्द्रधनुष का टुकड़ा), अमोघ (सूर्यास्त के बाद सूर्य बिम्ब, से निकलने वाली श्यामादि वर्ण वाली रेखा), कपिहसित (आकाश में होने वाला भयंकर शब्द), पूर्ववात, पश्चिमवात यावत् शुद्धवात, ग्रामदाह, नगरदाह यावत् सन्निवेशदाह, (इनसे होने वाले) प्राणियों का क्षय, जनक्षय, कुलक्षय, धनक्षय आदि दुःख और अनार्य-उत्पात आदि वहां होते हैं क्या? हे गौतम ! उक्त सब उपद्रव वहाँ नहीं होते हैं / हे भगवन् ! एकोरुक द्वीप में डिब (स्वदेश का विप्लव), डमर (अन्य देश द्वारा किया गया उपद्रव), कलह (वाग्युद्ध), आर्तनाद, मात्सर्य, वैर, विरोधीराज्य आदि हैं क्या ? हे प्रायुष्मन् श्रमण ! ये सब नहीं हैं / वे मनुष्य डिब-डमर-कलह-बोल-क्षार-वैर और विरुद्धराज्य के उपद्रवों से रहित हैं। हे भगवन् ! एकोरुक द्वीप में महायुद्ध महासंग्राम महाशस्त्रों का निपात, महापुरुषों (चक्रवर्ती-बलदेव-वासुदेव) के बाण, महारुधिरबाण, नागबाण, आकाशबाण, तामस (अन्धकार कर देने वाला) बाण आदि हैं क्या ? हे आयुष्मन् श्रमण ! ये सब वहाँ नहीं हैं। क्योंकि वहाँ के मनुष्य वैरानुबंध से रहित होते हैं, अतएव महायुद्धादि नहीं होते हैं। हे भगवन् ! एकोरुक द्वीप में दुर्भुतिक (अशिव), कुलक्रमागतरोग, ग्रामरोग, नगररोग, मंडल (जिला) रोग, शिरोवेदना, प्रांखवेदना, कानवेदना, नाकवेदना, दांतवेदना, नखवेदना, खांसी, श्वास, ज्वर, दाह, खुजली, दाद, कोढ, कुड--डमरुवात, जलोदर, अर्श (बवासीर) अजीर्ण, भगंदर, इन्द्र के प्रावेश से होने वाला रोग, स्कन्दग्रह (कार्तिकेय के आवेश से होने वाला रोग), कुमारग्रह, नागग्रह, यक्षग्रह, भूतग्रह, उद्वेगग्रह, धनुग्रह (धनुर्वात), एकान्तर ज्वर, दो दिन छोड़कर आने वाला ज्वर, तीन दिन छोड़कर आने वाला ज्वर, चार दिन छोड़कर आने वाला ज्वर, हृदयशूल, मस्तकशूल, पावशूल (पसलियों का दर्द), कुक्षिशूल, योनिशूल, ग्राममारी यावत् सन्निवेशमारी और इनसे होनेवाला प्राणों का क्षय यावत् दुःखरूप उपद्रवादि हैं क्या? _ हे आयुष्मन् श्रमण ! ये सब उपद्रव-रोगादि वहाँ नहीं हैं। वे मनुष्य सब तरह की व्याधियों से मुक्त होते हैं। हे भगवन् ! एकोरुक द्वीप में अतिवृष्टि, अल्पवृष्टि, सुवृष्टि, दुष्टि, उद्वाह (तीव्रता से जल का बहना), प्रवाह, उदकभेद (ऊँचाई से जल गिरने से खड्डे पड़ जाना), उदकपीड़ा (जल का
