प्रथम प्रतिपत्ति : जलचरों का वर्णन] तिरिएसु सव्वेसु उववज्जति–संखेज्जवासाउएसु व असलज्जवासाउएसुवि, चउप्पएसु वि पक्खोसु वि / मणुस्सेसु सम्वेसु कम्मभूमिएसु, नो अकम्ममूमिएसु अंतरदीवएसु वि संखिज्जवासाउएसु वि असंखिज्जवासाउएसु वि देवेसु जाव वाणमंतरा। चउगइया, दुआगइया, परित्ता असंखेज्जा पण्णत्ता। से तं जलयर-समुच्छिम-पंचेंदियतिरिक्खा / [35] जलचर कौन हैं ? जलचर पांच प्रकार के कहे गये हैं-मत्स्य, कच्छप, मगर, ग्राह और शिशुमार (संसुमार)। मच्छ क्या हैं ? मच्छ अनेक प्रकार के हैं इत्यादि वर्णन प्रज्ञापना के अनुसार जानना चाहिए यावत् इस प्रकार के अन्य भी मच्छ आदि ये सब जलचर संमूछिम पंचेन्द्रिय तिर्यंचयोनिक जीव संक्षेप से दो प्रकार के हैं--पर्याप्त और अपर्याप्त / हे भगवन् ! उन जीवों के कितने शरीर कहे गये हैं ? गौतम ! तीन शरीर कहे गये हैं औदारिक, तेजस और कार्मण / उनके शरीर की प्रवगाहना जघन्य से अंगुल का असंख्यातवां भाग और उत्कृष्ट एक हजार योजन / वे सेवार्तसंहनन वाले, हुण्डसंस्थान वाले, चार कषाय वाले, चार संज्ञाओं वाले, पांच लेश्याओं वाले हैं। उनके पांच इन्द्रियाँ, तीन समुद्घात होते हैं / वे संज्ञी नहीं, असंज्ञी हैं। वे नपुंसक वेद वाले हैं। उनके पांच पर्याप्तियां और पांच अपर्याप्तियां होती हैं। उनके दो दृष्टि, दो दर्शन, दो ज्ञान, दो अज्ञान, दो प्रकार के योग, दो प्रकार के उपयोग और आहार छहों दिशाओं के पुद्गलों का होता है / __ वे तिर्यंच और मनुष्यों से आकर उत्पन्न होते हैं, देवों और नारकों से नहीं। तियंचों में से भी असंख्यात वर्षायु वाले तिर्यंच इनमें उत्पन्न नहीं होते। अकर्मभूमि और अन्तर्वीपों के असंख्यात वर्ष की आयु वाले मनुष्य भी इनमें उत्पन्न नहीं होते। इनकी स्थिति जघन्य अन्तर्मुहुर्त और उत्कृष्ट पूर्वकोटि की है / ये मारणांतिक समुद्धात से समवहत होकर भी मरते हैं और असमवहत होकर भी मरते हैं / भगवन् ! ये संमूच्छिम जलचर जीव मरकर कहाँ उत्पन्न होते हैं ? गौतम ! ये नरक में भी उत्पन्न होते हैं, तिर्यंचों में भी, मनुष्यों में भी और देवों में भी उत्पन्न होते हैं। यदि नरक में उत्पन्न होते हैं तो रत्नप्रभा नरक तक ही उत्पन्न होते हैं, शेष नरकों में नहीं। तिर्यंच में उत्पन्न हों तो सब तिर्यंचों में संख्यात वर्ष की आयु वालों में भी और असंख्यात . वर्ष की आयु वालों में भी, चतुष्पदों में भी और पक्षियों में भी / मनुष्य में उत्पन्न हों तो सब कर्मभूमियों के मनुष्यों में उत्पन्न होते हैं, अकर्मभूमि वाले मनुष्यों में नहीं / अन्तर्वीपजों में संख्यात वर्ष की प्रायुवालों में भी और असंख्यात वर्ष की आयु वालों में भी
