भावार्थ
मैं जीवनपर्यन्त मन, वचन, काया से स्थूल झूठ नहीं बोलूंगा और न बोलाऊंगा । कन्या-वर के सम्बन्ध में, गाय, भैंस आदि पशुओं के विषय में कभी असत्य नहीं बोलूंगा। किसी की रखी हुई धरोहर (सौंपी हुई रकम आदि) के विषय में असत्य भाषण नहीं करूंगा और न धरोहर को हीनाधिक बताउंगा तथा झूठी साक्षी नहीं दूंगा। यदि मैंने किसी पर झूठा कलंक लगाया हो, एकांत में मंत्रणा करते हुए व्यक्तियों पर झूठा आरोप लगाया हो, अपनी स्त्री के गुप्त विचार प्रकाशित किये हों, मिथ्या उपदेश दिया हो, झूठा लेख (स्टाम्प बही-खाता आदि) लिखा हो तो मेरे वे सब पाप निष्फल हों ।
३. अदत्तादानविरमणाणुव्रत के अतिचार

तीजा अणुव्रत - थूलाओ अदिण्णादाणाओ वेरमणं खात खनकर, गांठ खोलकर, ताले पर कूंची लगाकर, मार्ग में चलते हुए लूट कर, पड़ी हुई धणियाती मोटी वस्तु जानकर लेना, इत्यादि मोटा अदत्तादान का पच्चक्खाण, सगे सम्बन्धी व्यापार सम्बन्धी तथा पड़ी निर्भमी वस्तु के उपरान्त अदत्तादान का पच्चक्खाण जावज्जीवाए दुविहं तिविहेणं न करेमि, न कारवेमि मणसा, वयसा, कायसा एवं तीजा स्थूल अदत्तादानवेरमण व्रत के पंच अइयारा जाणियव्वा न समायरियव्वा, तं जहा ते आलोउं तेनाहड़े, तक्करप्पओगे, विरुद्धरज्जाइक्कमे, कूडतुल्लकूडमाणे, तप्पडिरूवगववहारे तस्स मिच्छा मि दुक्कडं ।

भावार्थ - मैं किसी के मकान में खात लगाकर अर्थात् भींत ( खोद कर ) फोड़ कर, गांठ खोलकर, ताले पर कूंची लगा कर अथवा ताला तोड़ कर किसी की वस्तु को नहीं लूंगा, मार्ग में चलते हुए को नहीं लूटूंगा, किसी की मार्ग में पड़ी हुई मोटी वस्तु को नहीं लूंगा, इत्यादि रूप से सगे सम्बन्धी, व्यापार सम्बन्धी तथा पड़ी हुई शंका रहित वस्तु के उपरान्त स्थूल चोरी को मन-वचन-काय से न करूंगा और न कराऊंगा । यदि मैंने चोरी की वस्तु ली हो, चोर को सहायता दी हो, या चोरी करने का उपाय बतलाया हो, लड़ाई के समय विरुद्ध राज्य में आया गया होऊं, झूठा तोल व माप रखा हो, अथवा उत्तम वस्तु दिखाकर खराब वस्तु दी हो (वस्तु में मिलावट की हो), मैं इन कुकृत्यों (बुरे कामों) की आलोचना करता हूँ । वे मेरे सब पाप निष्फल हों ।
४. ब्रह्मचर्यणुव्रत के अतिचार
चौथा अणुव्रत - थूलाओ मेहुणाओ वेरमणं सदारसंतोसिए' अवसेस मेहुणविहिं पच्चक्खामि जावज्जीवाए देव देवी सम्बन्धी दुविहं तिविहेणं न करेमि, न कारवेमि मणसा, वयसा, कायसा तथा मनुष्य तिर्यञ्च सम्बन्धी एगविहं एगविहेणं न करेमि कायसा एवं चौथा स्थूल स्वदारसंतोष, परदारविवर्जन
१. 'स्वदारसंतोष' ऐसा पुरुष को बोलना चाहिये और स्त्री को 'स्वपतिसंतोष' ऐसा बोलना चाहिये।
