हुये भी स्वर्ण-सिंहासन आदि का उपयोग क्यों करते हैं?' इत्यादि दुश्चिन्तन करना अरिहन्तों की आशातना
सिद्धों की आशातना - 'सिद्ध कोई होता ही नहीं है। जब शरीर ही नहीं रहा तो फिर अनन्त सुख कैसे मिल सकता है ' आदि अवज्ञा करना सिद्धों की आशातना है।
आचार्य-उपाध्याय की आशातना - वह इस प्रकार है – 'ये बालक हैं, अकुलीन हैं, अल्पबुद्धि हैं , औरों को तो उपदेश देते पर स्वयं कुछ नहीं करते' इत्यादि। इसी प्रकार उपाध्याय की आशातना समझनी चाहिये।
साधुओं की आशातना – 'कायर जन परिवार का पालन-पोषण न कर सकने के कारण गृहत्याग कर भीख मांगने का धन्धा अख्तियार कर लेते हैं । गृहस्थों की कमाई पर गुलछर्रे उड़ाते हैं ' इत्यादि कह कर साधुओं की निन्दा करना उनकी आशातना है।
साध्वियों की आशातना - स्त्री होने के कारण साध्वियों को नीचा बतलाना । उनको कलह और संघर्ष की जड़ कहना, इत्यादि रूप से अवहेलना करना साध्वियों की आशातना है।
श्रावक-श्राविकाओं की आशातना - जैनधर्म अतीव उदार और विराट् धर्म है। यहाँ केवल अरिहन्त आदि महान् आत्माओं का ही गौरव नहीं है, अपितु साधारण गृहस्थ होते हुये भी जो स्त्री-पुरुष देशविरति धर्म का पालन करते हैं, उन श्रावकों एवं श्राविकाओं की अवज्ञा करना भी पाप है। प्रत्येक आचार्य, उपाध्याय और साधु को भी प्रतिदिन प्रातः और सायंकाल प्रतिक्रमण के समय श्रावकों एवं श्राविकाओं के प्रति ज्ञात या अज्ञात रूप से की जाने वाली अवज्ञा के लिये पश्चात्ताप करना होता है । 'मिच्छा मि दुक्कडं' देना होता है। जैनागमों में श्रावकों-श्राविकाओं को 'अम्मापियरो' से उपमित किया गया है । जैनधर्म में गुणों को महत्त्व दिया है । वहाँ गुणों की पूजा होती है, न कि वेषभेद या लिंग आदि के भेद से किसी को ऊँचा या नीचा समझा जाता है।
देवों-देवियों की आशातना - वह इस प्रकार है - देवता तो विषय-वासना में आसक्त, अप्रत्याख्यानी, अविरत हैं और शक्तिमान् होते हुये भी शासन की उन्नति नहीं करते, इत्यादि। इसी प्रकार देवियों की आशातना समझना चाहिये।
इहलोक और परलोक की आशातना – इहलोक और परलोक का अभिप्राय इस प्रकार है - मनुष्य के लिये मनुष्य इहलोक है और नरक, तिर्यञ्च एवं देव परलोक है । इहलोक और परलोक की असत्य प्ररूपणा करना, पुनर्जन्म आदि न मानना, नरकादि चार गतियों के सिद्धान्त पर विश्वास न रखना इत्यादि इहलोक और परलोक की आशातना है।
