चिरकाल से निशीयसूत्र पर हिन्दी अनुवाद और विवेचन की अपेक्षा थी। स्वर्गीय युवाचार्य महामनीची श्री मधुकर मुनिजी ने जीवन की सान्ववेला में आगम प्रकाशन योजना प्रस्तुत की। अनेक मनीधीप्रवरों के सहयोग के कारण इस योजना ने शीघ्र ही मूर्तरूप ग्रहण किया। उनके जीवन काल में धौर स्वल्प समय में अनेक प्रागम प्रकाशित हो गये। युवाचार्य मधुकर मुनिजी के अनन्य मित्र भागमसाहित्य के मर्मज्ञ सन्तरस्न धनुयोग प्रवर्तक पण्डितप्रवर श्री कन्हैयालालजी म. 'कमल' से उन्होंने योजना के प्रारम्भ में ही सहज रूप से कहा कि मुनिप्रवर छेदसूत्रों का सम्पादन और विवेचन आपको लिखना है स्नेहमूर्ति मधुकर मुनिजी की बात को कन्हैयालालजी म. कैसे टाल सकते थे। उन्होंने स्वीकृति प्रदान की पर किसे पता था कि युवाचार्यश्री का आकस्मिक स्वर्गवास हो जाएगा। उनके स्वर्गवास से कुछ व्यवधान अवश्य आया पर सम्पादक मण्डल और प्रकाशन समिति ने यह दृढ़ संकल्प किया कि यह कार्य अवश्य ही सम्पन्न करेंगे । परिणामस्वरूप बत्तीस आगमों का प्रकाशन हो सका है ।
मुनि श्री कन्हैयालालजी म. 'कमल' जीवन के ऊपाकाल से ही श्रुतसेवा में समर्पित रहे हैं। उन्होंने कठिन श्रम कर गणितानुयोग, धर्मकथानुयोग, और चरणकरणानुयोग के विराटुकाय ग्रन्थ कई जिल्दों में प्रकाशित कर दिये हैं । द्रव्यानुयोग का प्रकाशन भी कई जिल्दों में होने जा रहा है। उन्होंने हर एक आगमों का शानदार [सम्पादन भी किया है। उन्हीं के कठिन श्रम के फलस्वरूप ही निशीष भाष्य व विशेषचूर्णि सहित आगरा से प्रकाशित हुआ था । आगमसाहित्य के मर्मज्ञ मनीषी के द्वारा निशीथ का अनुवाद और विवेचन लिखा गया है। विवेचन में लेखक की प्रकृष्ट प्रतिभा सहजरूप से प्रकट हुई है । प्राचीन ग्रन्थों के प्रालोक में उन्होंने बहुत ही संक्षिप्त में सारपूर्ण विवेचन लिखा है । विषय के तलछट तक पहुंचकर विषय को बहुत ही सुन्दर सरस शब्दावली में प्रस्तुत करना उनका स्वभाव है ।
निशीथसूत्र का मूलपाठ शुद्ध है। अनुवाद इतना अधिक सुन्दर हुआ है कि पाठक पढ़ते-पढ़ते विषय को सहज ही हृदयंगम कर लेता है । अनुवाद की सबसे बड़ी विशेषता है कि वह प्रवाहपूर्ण है । निशीथ जैसे गुरुगम्भीर रहस्य भरे आगम पर विवेचन लिखना हंसी-मजाक का खेल नहीं है। उनमें उनकी सहज बहुश्रुतता के दर्शन होते हैं । प्रस्तुत अनुवाद और विवेचन आदि के कार्य में पण्डितप्रवर श्री तिलोकमुनिजी का स्नेहपूर्ण सहकार भी मिला है। कन्हैयालालजी म. 'कमल' के नेतृत्व में रहकर उनके स्वास्थ्य की प्रतिकूलता होने से उन्होंने समर्पित होकर इस सम्पादन कार्य के लिए सहयोग प्रदान किया। कन्हैयालालजी म. 'कमल' की प्रकृष्ट प्रतिभा प्रोर तिलोकमुनिजी का कठिन श्रम, इस प्रकार मणि-काञ्चन संयोग से ग्रन्थ का सम्पादन सुन्दर और शीघ्र हो सका है।

There has long been a need for a Hindi translation and commentary on the Nishīth Sūtra. The late Yuvacharya Mahāmānīchi Shri Madhukar Muni ji, in the prime of his life, presented the Āgama Publication Scheme. Due to the cooperation of many learned and generous individuals, this scheme quickly took shape. During his lifetime, many Prāgamas were published in a short period of time. Yuvacharya Madhukar Muni ji, in the beginning of the scheme, casually told his close friend, the expert in Āgama literature, the proponent of Dhanuyoga, the learned Pandit Shri Kanhaiyalal ji M. 'Kamal', that you should write the editing and commentary of the Muni Pravara Chhedasūtras. How could Kanhaiyalal ji M. refuse the request of the affectionate Madhukar Muni ji? The biggest feature of the translation is that it is fluent. Writing a commentary on an Āgama like Nishīth, which is full of profound secrets, is not a joke. His natural erudition is evident in them. Pandit Shri Tilak Muni ji's affectionate cooperation has also been received in the work of this present translation and commentary. Under the leadership of Kanhaiyalal ji M. 'Kamal', he dedicated himself to this editing work due to his ill health. The excellent talent of Kanhaiyalal ji M. 'Kamal' and the hard work of Tilak Muni ji, thus, through this combination of gem and gold, the editing of the book has been beautiful and quick.
