[निशीथसूत्र बिजली का मैन स्वीच चौबीस घंटे ही जलता रहता है किन्तु उसके प्रकाश का उपयोग आवश्यक कार्यों के लिए नहीं किया जा सकता है।
समय की जानकारी के लिए अाजकल सैल से चलने वाली घड़ियां उन उपाश्रयों में लगी रहती हैं।
मैन स्वीच और क्वाट्ज घड़ियों से उपरोक्त विराधना नहीं होती है, अतः ऐसे उपाश्रयों में ठहरने पर सूत्रोक्त प्रायश्चित्त नहीं आता है।
सचित्त इक्षु का सेवन का प्रायश्चित्त--
४. जे भिक्खू सचित्तं उच्छु भुजइ, भुजंतं वा साइज्जइ । ५. जे भिक्खू सचित्तं उच्छु विडंसइ, विडंसंतं वा साइज्जइ । ६. जे भिक्खू सचित्त-पइट्ठियं उच्छु भुजइ, भुजंतं वा साइज्जइ । ७. जे भिक्खू सचित्त-पइट्ठियं उच्छु विडसइ, विडंसंतं वा साइज्जइ ।
८. जे भिक्खू सचित्तं १. अंतरूच्छ्यं वा, २. अच्छुखंडियं वा, ३. उच्छुचोयगं वा, ४. उच्छुमेरगं वा, ५. उच्छुसालगं वा, ६. उच्छुडगलं वा भुजइ, भुजंतं वा साइज्जइ ।

४. जो भिक्षु सचित्त ईख [गन्ना] खाता है या खाने वाले का अनुमोदन करता है । ५. जो भिक्षु सचित्त ईख को चूसता है या चूसने वाले का अनुमोदन करता है। ६. जो भिक्षु सचित्त प्रतिष्ठित ईख को खाता है या खाने वाले का अनुमोदन करता है । ७. जो भिक्षु सचित्त प्रतिष्ठित ईख को चूसता है या चूसने वाले का अनुमोदन करता है ।
