[३३३ सामायिक के समय भी वाणिज्य एवं खेती आदि के सभी सावध कार्य उसके स्वामित्व में ही होते रहते हैं । अतः किसी भी गृहस्थ को अशनादि देने पर सूत्रोक्त प्रायश्चित्त प्राता है।
आहार देने वाला गृहस्थ -संयमसाधना में सहयोग करने के लिये ही भिक्षु को भावपूर्वक आहार देता है । इसलिए वह आहार अन्य किसी को देने पर जिनाज्ञा एवं गृहस्थ की आज्ञा न होने से तीसरा महाव्रत दूषित होता है।
आहार दाता गृहस्थ को यह ज्ञात हो जाए कि 'मेरा दिया हुआ आहार साधु ने अमुक को दिया है तो उसकी साधुओं के प्रति अश्रद्धा होती है और दान भावना में भी कमी आ जाती है ।
कभी दाता की या भिक्षु की असावधानी से सचित्त आहार-पानी या अकल्पनीय आहारादि पदार्थ ग्रहण कर लिया गया हो तो शीघ्र ही उसी गृहस्थ को पुनः दे देना चाहिए। ऐसा विधान प्राचा. श्रु. २ अ. १ उ. १० तथा अ. ६ उ. २ में है। पार्श्वस्थ प्रादि के साथ आहार का देन-लेन करने का प्रायश्चित्त

[333] Even during Samayik, all necessary activities like business and farming remain under the ownership of the householder. Therefore, giving food to anyone other than the intended recipient incurs the prescribed atonement according to the Sutras.
