विवेचन - पात्र की गवेषणा करते समय निम्नांकित बातों का ध्यान रखना आवश्यक है
१. पात्र में यदि मकड़ी आदि त्रस जीव हों तो नहीं लेना ।
२. उसमें धान्य या बीज रखे हुए हों तो नहीं लेना ।
३. उसमें कंद-मूल आदि वनस्पति हों तो नहीं लेना । ४. उसमें नमक आदि सचित्त पृथ्वीकाय हो तो नहीं लेना । ५. उसमें सचित्त जल हो तो नहीं लेना ।
६. मिट्टी के पात्र में अग्नि [ खीरा आदि ] हो तो नहीं लेना ।
७. इन जीवों या पदार्थों को स्वयं निकाल करके पात्र नहीं लेना । ८. गृहस्थ इन्हें निकाल कर देवे तो भी नहीं लेना ।
ऐसा अकल्पनीय पात्र ग्रहण करने पर इन सूत्रों से प्रायश्चित्त प्राता है ।
