[३१७ विवेचन-पात्र यदि दिखने में विद्रूप हो किन्तु उपयोग में आने योग्य हो तो उसे सुन्दर बनाने के लिए किसी प्रकार का प्रयत्न नहीं करना चाहिए।
पात्र यदि अत्यन्त सुन्दर मिला हो तो उसे दूसरा कोई माँग न ले या प्राचार्यादि स्वयं न ले ले अथवा कोई चुरा न ले जाए, ऐसी भावना से पात्र को विद्रूप करने का प्रयत्न भी नहीं करना चाहिए।
__संयम-आराधना में उक्त दोनों प्रकार के संकल्प एवं प्रयत्न अनावश्यक हैं । अतः भिक्षु को इस प्रकार की प्रवृत्ति नहीं करनी चाहिए। पात्र परिकर्म करने के प्रायश्चित्त
