Penance for Increasing Defilements
92. If a bhikkhu makes or approves of the form of any sense organ, such as the eye, ear, etc., with the intention of sexual intercourse with a woman.
By indulging in this, he incurs the Caturmasya Parihara-sthana (four-monthly penance).
Summary of the Seventh Uddeshaka:
1-12 Making, keeping or wearing various kinds of garlands, ornaments, jewelry and different types of leather and cloth with the intention of sexual intercourse.
13 Manipulating the limbs of a woman with the intention of sexual intercourse.
14-67 Performing 54 bodily acts with the intention of sexual intercourse.
68-79 Seating or lying down a woman on the places of violation of earth-body, water-body, plant-body and mobile-body, holding her in lap or in a religious hall, etc. and eating food.
80-82 Performing medical treatment, cleansing the body, etc. with the intention of sexual intercourse.
83-85 Manipulating the limbs of animals and birds, inserting objects in their orifices, and embracing their female counterparts.
86-91 Giving or taking food, clothes, etc. from a woman and discussing spiritual matters with her or receiving spiritual discourses from her.
92 Performing any sensual act with one's own body part.
The Gurucaramasi penance is incurred for all these activities.
Conclusion: Though the scriptures have many provisions for the protection of the fourth great vow, the clear prohibitions mentioned in these 92 sutras of this Uddeshaka are not found elsewhere in the scriptures. This is the specialty of this Uddeshaka.
