75. If a monk sits or lies down with a woman with the intention of sexual intercourse, on a place infested with wood-worms or termites, or where there are eggs, mobile beings, seeds, green grass, chaff, water, ant-hills, etc., he incurs the Guru-Caumasi Prayaschitta (major expiation).
Explanation - In the first four sutras, the ground is described as insentient, but in the first sutra, it is said to be near the sentient earth. In the second sutra, the ground is described as moist due to water, etc. In the third sutra, the ground is described as dusty. In the fourth sutra, the ground is described as scattered with soil. In the fifth, sixth, and seventh sutras, the ground, rock, and pebbles are themselves described as sentient.
The beginning of the eighth sutra mentions wood infested with life. After that, various places infested with different types of life forms are described.
The term 'sa-ande' here should be understood to mean a place with the eggs of lower organisms. The words 'osa' and 'udaka' indicate the presence of water-bodied organisms. The term 'dagamatti' indicates a mixture of earth-bodied and water-bodied organisms. This can include the soil on the banks of ponds, etc., as well as the moist soil prepared by potters.
The expiation for sitting or lying down (on such places).
76. If a monk sits or lies down with a woman with the intention of sexual intercourse, he incurs the (Guru-Caumasi) Prayaschitta.
77. If a monk, with the intention of sexual intercourse with a woman, makes her sit on his lap or in a chair, or feeds or gives her food or drink, he incurs the (Guru-Caumasi) Prayaschitta.
78. If a monk sits or lies down with a woman with the intention of sexual intercourse in a guest house, monastery, householder's home, or resting place, he incurs the (Guru-Caumasi) Prayaschitta.
79. If a monk, with the intention of sexual intercourse with a woman, makes her sit on his lap or in a chair in a guest house, monastery, householder's home, or resting place, he incurs the (Guru-Caumasi) Prayaschitta.| SR No. | 003462 |
