[निशीथसूत्र होता है जिससे आत्मविराधना और वनस्पति की विराधना होती है और बजाने में वनस्पति की या वायुकाय की अथवा दोनों को एक साथ विराधना होती है। सुनने व देखने वाले के मन में अनेक प्रकार के विकृत विचार उत्पन्न होते हैं । यह प्रवृत्ति स्व-पर को व्यामोहित करने वाली भी होती है ।
ये कार्य संयमी के करने योग्य नहीं हैं । अतः इनका प्रायश्चित्त कहा गया है। लघुमासिक का कथन होते हुए भी दोष-स्थिति के अनुसार जघन्य, मध्यम और उत्कृष्ट अनेक प्रकार के प्रायश्चित्त दिये जा सकते हैं।
'मुहवीणियं' से कंठ द्वारा बजाई जाने वाली वीणा समझ लेनी चाहिये ।
पत्थर, कांच या किसी भी वस्तु से भिन्न-भिन्न प्रकार की ध्वनि करने का या वादित्र आदि बजाने का प्रायश्चित्त उपरोक्त सूत्र ३५ से समझ लेना चाहिये ।
चूणि (व्याख्या) काल के बाद कभी इन तीन सूत्रों से २५ या २४ सूत्र मूल पाठ में बन गये हैं, ऐसा अनेक प्रतियों में देखा गया है किन्तु भाष्य, चणि आदि में ऐसा कोई निर्देश नहीं है, अतः यहां २५ सूत्र ग्रहण न करके तीन सूत्र रखना ही उचित प्रतीत हुअा है ।

३६. जे भिक्खू "उद्देसियं-सेज्ज" अणुप्पविसइ, अणुप्पविसंतं वा साइज्जइ । ३७. जे भिक्खू "सपाहुडियं सेज्ज" अणुप्पविसइ, अणुप्पविसंतं वा साइज्जइ । ३८. जे भिक्खू "सपरिकम्मं सेज्ज" अणुप्पविसइ, अणुप्पविसंतं वा साइज्जइ ।
३६. जो भिक्षु प्रौद्दशिक दोष युक्त (उद्दिष्ट) शय्या में प्रवेश करता है या प्रवेश करने वाले का अनुमोदन करता है ।

विवेचन १. साधु के लिये जिस मकान का निर्माण किया जाता है वह "श्रौद्देशिक दोष" युक्त शय्या कही जाती है।
२. सपाहुडियं-उद्गम के १६ दोषों में छट्ठा “पाहुडिया” नामक दोष है। वही दोष यहां शय्या के लिये समझना चाहिये । मकान का निर्माण गृहस्थ के लिये ही करना हो किन्तु निर्माण के समय को आगे पीछे करने पर या शीघ्रता से करने पर वही शय्या “पाहुडिय दोष-युक्त शय्या" कहलाती है।
