प्रस्वेदनिवारण - प्रायश्चित्त
५७. जे भिक्खू अप्पणो कायाओ सेयं वा जल्लं वा पंकं वा मलं वा नीहरेज्ज वा विसोहेज्ज वा, णीहरंतं वा विसोहंतं वा साइज्जइ ।
६७. जो भिक्षु अपने शरीर का पसीना, जमा हुआ मैल, गीला मैल और ऊपर से लगी हुई रज आदि को निवारण करता है या विशोधन करता है या ऐसा करने वाले का अनुमोदन करता है । (उसे लघुमासिक प्रायश्चित्त प्राता है ।)
विवेचन
[ निशीथसूत्र
सेयं वा - 'सेयो - प्रस्वेद : ' - स्वल्प मलः -- थोड़ा सूखा मैल ।
जल्लं वा - 'थिंगलं जल्लो भणति' । - मैल का थेगला - ज्यादा मैल ।
पंकं वा -- 'एस एव प्रस्वेद उल्लितो पंको भण्णति' - यही ( ऊपर कथित) सूखा मैल पसीने आदि से गीला हो जाने पर "पंक" कहलाता है ।
अथवा - 'अण्णो वा जो कद्दमो लग्गो' - प्रथवा अन्य कोई कीचड आदि लग जाय उसे भी "पंक” कहते हैं । यहाँ पहला अर्थ ही प्रसंगसंगत है ।
मलं वा - 'मलो पुण उत्तरमाणो अच्छो, रेणू वा' - जो स्वतः स्पर्शादि से उतरने जैसा हो और उतर कर साथ हो जाय । अथवा ऊपर से लगी हुई धूल आदि । नि. चूर्णी. पृष्ठ २२१ णीहरण - अल्प या अधिक निकालना, दूर करना हटाना ।
विशोधन - ' असे सविसोहणं' - पूर्ण विशुद्ध कर देना ।
इस सूत्र के प्रायश्चित्त-विधान में यह सूचित किया गया है कि स्वस्थ या समर्थ साधक जल्ल परिषह को अग्लान भाव से सतत सावधानी पूर्वक सहन करे ।
अल्प सामर्थ्य वाला साधक भी सामर्थ्यानुसार परीषह सहन करने की भावना रखे तथा अकारण परिकर्म करने की प्रवृत्ति न करे । अकारण प्रवृत्ति करने पर ही सूत्रोक्त प्रायश्चित्त प्राता है । प्रत्येक व्यक्ति की सहनशक्ति के अनुसार ही 'अकारण सकारण' का निर्णय होता है । अथवा उसके समाधि या समाधि भाव पर निर्भर करता है ।
चक्षु कर्ण - दंस-नहमलनीहरण- प्रायश्चित्त
६८. जे भिक्खू अप्पणो अच्छिमलं वा, कण्णमलं वा, दंतमलं वा णहमलं वा, णीहरेज्ज वा, विसोहेज्ज वा, गीहरंतं वा, विसोहंतं वा साइज्जइ ।

अर्थ- जो भिक्षु अपने आँख का मैल, कान का मैल, दाँत का मैल या नख का मैल निकालता है या उन्हें विशुद्ध करता है या ऐसा करने वाले का अनुमोदन करता है । ( उसे लघुमासिक प्रायश्चित्त आता है ।)
विवेचन -- शब्दों का अर्थ स्पष्ट है । शेष विवेचन सूत्र ६७ के समान समझ लेना चाहिए। ये कार्य अकारण करने पर सूत्रोक्त प्रायश्चित्त आता है ।
