[३७ साधु ने कहा-"अरे प्रमादी ! तू यहाँ बैठा-बैठा क्या नींद ले रहा है ? सच बता किसने
उठाया और कहाँ रखा।" २. अपने आसन पर किसी अन्य साधु को बैठा देखकर एक साधु ने कहा-"अरे ! यह कौन
बैठा है ? उठ यहाँ से, क्या इसे अपना पासन समझ रखा है।" ३. नींद ले रहे किसी साधु को किसी अन्य साधु ने किसी कारण से जगाया तो वह बोला--- _ "कौन है यह दुष्ट जिसने मेरे आराम में बाधा डाली है।" ४. किसी रुग्ण साधु ने किसी अन्य साधु से कहा--"मैं कितनी बार कह चुका हूँ-तुम मेरे
लिए दवाई नहीं ला रहे हो।"
उसने रुग्ण साधु से कहा-"क्यों हाय हाय कर रहे हो ! थोड़ा धैर्य नहीं रख सकते ?" ५. किसी गणप्रमुख ने कुछ साधुओं से एक दुर्लभ वस्तु लाने के लिए कहा, कईयों ने ____गवेषणा की किन्तु उनकी गवेषणा निष्फल गई, केवल एक की गवेषणा सफल रही। निष्फल गवेषकों में से किसी एक ने पूछा-"किस को मिली वह दुर्लभ वस्तु" ?
जिसको मिली थी उसने कहा "मुझे मिली है। तुम्हें क्या मिले, तुम्हारे भाग्य में तो भटकना लिखा है सो भटकते फिरो।"
__इस प्रकार की भाषा का प्रयोग करने से दूसरों को दुःख होता है, इसलिये परुष भाषण सूक्ष्महिंसा है । जिससे प्रथम महाव्रत में अतिचार लगता है। परुस होते हुए भी परुष नहीं
__ केशीकुमार श्रमण ने राजा प्रदेशी को तथा राजीमति ने रहनेमि को जो कुछ परुष वाक्य कहे थे वे परुष (कठोर) होते हए भी परुष नहीं थे। क्योंकि उन्होंने जो परुष भाषा कही थी वह उन आत्माओं के हित के लिए कही थी अतः उस परिस्थिति में कहे गए कषायभाव-रहित परुष वचन प्रायश्चित्त योग्य नहीं होते हैं।
इसी प्रकार शिष्य को हितशिक्षा हेतु कहे गए गुरु के कठोर वचन भी प्रायश्चित्त योग्य नहीं होते हैं।
क्रोध, मान, ईर्षा या द्वेषवश कहे गए परुष वचनों का प्रायश्चित्त सूत्र में कहा है ।
