१५ - तए णं से हरिणेगमेसी कण्हं वासुदेवं एवं वयासी - होहिइ णं देवाणुप्पिया! तव देवलोयचुए सहोदरे कणीयसे भाउए। से णं उम्मुक्क जाव [बालभावे विण्णय-परिणयमेत्ते जोव्वणग] मणुपत्ते अरहओ अरिट्ठणेमिस्स अंतियं मुंडे जाव [ भवित्ता आगाराओ अणगारियं] पव्वइस्सइ। कण्हं वासुदेवं दोच्चं पि तच्चं पि एवं वदह, वदित्ता जामेव दिसं पाउब्भूए तामेव दिसं पडिगए।
तए णं से कण्हे वासुदेवे पोसहसालाओ पडिणिवत्तइ, पडिणिवत्तित्ता जेणेव देवई देवी तेणेव उवागच्छइ, उवागच्छित्ता देवईए देवीए पायग्गहणं करेइ, करेत्ता एवं वयासी
होहिइ णं अम्मो! मम सहोदरे कणीयसे भाउए त्ति कटु देवइं देविं ताहिं इट्ठाहिं जाव [कंताहिं पियाहिं मण्णुणाहिं वग्गूहिं ] आसासेइ, आसासित्ता जामेव दिसं पाउन्भूए तामेव दिसं पडिगए।
__ तब हरिणैगमेषी देव श्रीकृष्ण वासुदेव से इस प्रकार बोला - "हे देवानुप्रिय! देवलोक का एक देव वहाँ का आयुष्य पूर्ण होने पर देवलोक से च्युत होकर आपके सहोदर छोटे भाई के रूप में जन्म लेगा और इस तरह आपका मनोरथ अवश्य पूर्ण होगा, पर वह बाल्यकाल बीतने पर, विज्ञ और परिणत होकर युवावस्था प्राप्त होने पर भगवान् श्री अरिष्टनेमि के पास मुण्डित होकर श्रमणदीक्षा ग्रहण करेगा।" श्रीकृष्ण वासुदेव को उस देव ने दूसरी बार, तीसरी बार भी यही कहा और यह कहने के पश्चात् जिस दिशा से आया था उसी में लौट गया।
इसके पश्चात् श्रीकृष्ण-वासुदेव पौषधशाला से निकले , निकलकर देवकी माता के पास आये, आकर देवकी देवी का चरण-वंदन किया, चरण-वंदन कर वे माता से इस प्रकार बोले
हे माता! मेरा एक सहोदर छोटा भाई होगा। अब आप चिंता न करें। आपकी इच्छा पूर्ण होगी। ऐसा कह करके उन्होंने देवकी माता को मधुर एवं इष्ट, कांत, प्रिय, मनोज्ञ वचनों द्वारा आश्वस्त किया। आश्वस्त करकें जिस दिशा में प्रादुर्भूत - प्रकट हुए थे उसी दिशा में लौट गये।

[45] Assurance to Devaki Devi
15 - Then that Harinegamesi said to Kanha Vasudeva thus: "O Devanappriya! Your younger brother will be born in the divine world. He, after passing the childhood stage, will attain the age of youth, and then, having become a monk, will renounce the household life and take up the ascetic life. Tell Kanha Vasudeva this again and again, and after saying this, he went back in the same direction from which he had appeared.

Then that Kanha Vasudeva returned from the Posadha-sala, went to where Devaki Devi was, and after paying obeisance to Devaki Devi, spoke thus: "O mother! My younger brother will be born. Now do not worry. Your desire will be fulfilled." After saying this, he assured Devaki Devi with sweet, desirable, beloved, and pleasant words, and then went back in the same direction from which he had appeared.
