These are the auspicious signs that appear in front of the Anupurvi; that is - auspicious, auspicious marks, up to mirrors; and then the decorated pot, as described, up to touching the sky with their hands, appear in front of the Anupurvi; in the same way as described, it should be stated up to performing the Alokana and uttering the sounds of victory.
Then, many excellent enjoyments, as described, up to surrounded by the great men, the preceptors, appear in front of the Anupurvi of the young prince Gaya-sukumala.
Then, the beloved father of the young prince Gaya-sukumala, having performed the ritual of offering, up to being carried on the excellent royal umbrella, surrounded by the fourfold army with horses, elephants, chariots, and infantry, along with the great army of soldiers, follows behind the young prince Gaya-sukumala.
Then, in front of the young prince Gaya-sukumala, there is a great expectation, elephants on both sides, excellent elephants, chariots behind, and chariot-riders. Then, the young prince Gaya-sukumala, with excellent decorations, holding the royal parasol, with the excellent royal chowries waving, with all the ornaments, up to the sounds of musical instruments, and then many holders of sticks, spears, up to books, up to veenas; and then eight hundred elephants, eight hundred horses, eight hundred chariots; and then many foot soldiers with lances, swords, and spears in front; and then many royal ministers, generals, up to caravan leaders in front, proceed towards the city of Varavati in the middle.
As the young prince Gaya-sukumala is proceeding in the middle of the city of Varavati, many well-wishers in the streets, crossroads, up to markets, welcoming and praising, say, "Victory, victory, Nanda! By the Dharma, victory, victory, Nanda! By the austerity, victory, victory, Nanda! May the supreme knowledge, vision, and conduct be yours, may you conquer the senses, may you establish the monastic Dharma; may you reside in the center of perfection, destroy the stains of attachment and aversion, with austerity bind the knot of wealth and poverty, and with the supreme, pure meditation, destroy the eight karmic enemies, O wise one! Attain the path of worship in the center of the three worlds, obtain the unsurpassed pure knowledge, and go to the supreme state of liberation through the path shown by the Jina, having conquered the army of adversities and the obstacles of the village, may the Dharma be unobstructed for you." Thus, they welcome and praise him.
Then, the young prince Gaya-sukumala proceeds in the middle of the city of Varavati, and proceeds to the Sahasrambavana garden, and there he sees the Tirthankaras' seat, places the royal parasol, and descends from the royal palanquin. Then, the mother and father of Gaya-sukumala approach him where the Arhat Aristhanemi is, prostrate three times, and say, "Indeed, O Lord! This Gaya-sukumala is our dear and beloved son, what more to say? Just as the lotus, or the thousand-petaled lotus, grows in the mud but is not stained by the mud, is not stained by the water, in the same way, Gaya-sukumala, born of desires, grown in enjoyments, is not stained by the stain of desires."
