[ उपासकदशांगसूत्र
है -- गुठली तथा गूदा या रस । गुठली सचित्त है, गूदा या रस अचित है। पर सचित से प्रतिबद्ध या संलग्न है । यह अतिचार भी उस व्यक्ति की अपेक्षा से है, जिसने सचित्त वस्तुओं की मर्यादा की है। यदि वह सचित्त - संलग्न का सेवन करता है तो उसकी मर्यादा भग्न होती है और यह अतिचार में आता है ।
अपक्व - ओषधि-भक्षणता पूरी न पकी हुई ओषधि, फल, चनों के छोले आदि खाना । ओषधि के स्थान पर ओदन पाठ भी प्राप्त होता है। ओदन का अर्थ पकाए हुए चावल हैं, तदनुसार एक अर्थ होगा -- कच्चे या अधपके चावल खाना ।
दुष्पक्व - ओषधि-भक्षणता -- जो वनौषधियाँ, फल आदि देर पकने वाले हैं, उन्हें पके जान कर पूरे न पके रूप में सेवन करना या बुरी रीति से अतिहिंसा से पकाये गये पदार्थों का सेवन करना । जैसे छिलके समेत सेके हुए भुट्टे, छिलके समेत बगारी हुई मटर की फलियाँ आदि; क्योंकि इस ढंग से पकाये हुए पदार्थों में त्रस जीवों की हिंसा भी हो सकती है।
तुच्छ-ओषधि-भक्षणता -- जिन वनौषधियों या फलों में खाने योग्य भाग कम हो, निरर्थक या फेंकने योग्य भाग अधिक हो, जैसे गन्ना, सीताफल आदि, इनका सेवन करना । इसका दूसरा अर्थ यह भी है, जिनके खाने में अधिक हिंसा होती हो, जैसे खस-खस के दाने, शामक के दाने, चौलाई आदि का सेवन ।
इन अतिचारों की परिकल्पना के पीछे यही भावना है कि उपासक भोजन के सन्दर्भ में बहुत जागरूक रहे । जिह्वा-लोलुपता से सदा बचे रहे । जिह्वा के स्वाद को जीतना बड़ा कठिन है, इसीलिए उस ओर उपासक को बहुत सावधान रहना चाहिए ।
कर्मादान -- कर्म और आदान, इस दो शब्दों में कर्मादान बना है। आदान का अर्थ ग्रहण है । कर्मादान का आशय उन प्रवृत्तियों से है, जिनके कारण ज्ञानावरण आदि कर्मों का प्रबल बन्ध होता है । उन कामों में बहुत अधिक हिंसा होती है । इसलिए श्रावक के लिए वे वर्जित है । ये कर्म सम्बन्धी अतिचार है। श्रावक को इनके त्याग की स्थान-स्थान पर प्रेरणा दी गई है। कहा गया है कि न वह स्वयं इन्हें करे, न दूसरों से कराए और न करने वालों का समर्थन करें ।
कर्मादानों का विश्लेषण इस प्रकार है-
अंगार-कर्म -- अंगार का अर्थ कोयला है । अंगार-कर्म का मुख्य अर्थ कोयले बनाने का धंधा करना है । जिन कामों में अग्नि और कोयलों का बहुत ज्यादा उपयोग हो, वे काम भी इसमें आते है । जैसे - ईटों का भट्टा, चूने का भट्टा, सीमेंट का कारखाना आदि। इन कार्यों में घोर हिंसा होती है।
वन - कर्म -- वे धन्धे, जिनका सम्बन्ध वन के साथ है, वन-कर्म में आते है; जैसे कटवा कर जंगल साफ कराना, जंगल के वृक्षों को काट कर लकड़ियाँ बेचना, जंगल काटने के ठेके लेना आदि । हरी वनस्पति के छेदन भेदन तथा तत्सम्बद्ध प्राणि-वध की दृष्टि से ये भी अत्यन्त हिंसा के कार्य है । आजीविका के लिए वन - उत्पादन - संवर्धन करके वृक्षों को काटना- कटवाना भी वन कर्म हैं।

**Van-Karma:** Those businesses that are related to the forest fall under "van-karma."
