. [१७३ हुए, संगोपन करते हुए-बचाते हुए, उन्हें मोक्ष रूपी विशाल बाड़े में सहारा देकर पहुंचाते हैं । सकडालपुत्र! इसलिए श्रमण भगवान् महावीर को मैं महागोप कहता हूं।
गोशालक ने फिर से कहा--देवानुप्रिय! क्या यहाँ महासार्थवाह आए थे? सकडालपुत्र-महासार्थवाह आप किसे कहते हैं ? गोशालक-सकडालपुत्र! श्रमण भगवान् महावीर महासार्थवाह हैं। सकडालपुत्र-किस प्रकार?
गोशालक-देवानुप्रिय! इस संसार रूपी भयानक वन में बहुत से जीव नश्यमान, विनश्यमान, (खाद्यमान, छिद्यमान, भिद्यमान, लुप्यमान) एवं विलुप्यमान हैं, धर्ममय मार्ग द्वारा उनकी सुरक्षा करते हुए-धर्ममार्ग पर उन्हें आगे बढ़ाते हुए, सहारा देकर मोक्ष रूपी महानगर में पहुंचाते हैं । सकडालपुत्र! इस अभिप्राय से मैं उन्हें महासार्थवाह कहता हूं।
गोशालक-देवानुप्रिय! क्या महाधर्मकथी यहां आए थे? सकडालपुत्र-देवानुप्रिय! कौन महाधर्मकथी? (आपका किनसे अभिप्राय है?) गोशालक-श्रमण भगवान् महावीर महाधर्मकथी हैं। सकडालपुत्र-श्रमण भगवान् महावीर महाधर्मकथी किस अर्थ में हैं?
गोशालक-देवानुप्रिय! इस अत्यन्त विशाल संसार में बहुत से प्राणी नश्यमान, विनश्यमान है, खाद्यमान, छिद्यमान, लुप्यमान हैं , विलुप्यमान हैं, उन्मार्गगामी हैं , सत्पथ से भ्रष्ट हैं , मिथ्यात्व से ग्रस्त हैं , आठ प्रकार के कर्म रूपी अन्धकार-पटल के पर्दे से ढके हुए हैं , उनको अनेक प्रकार से सत् तत्त्व समझाकर, विश्लेषण कर, चार-देव, मनुष्य, तिर्यञ्च, नरक गतिमय संसार रूपी भयावह वन से सहारा देकर निकालते हैं, इसलिए देवानुप्रिय! मैं उन्हें महाधर्मकथी कहता हूं।
गोशालक ने पुनः पूछा-देवानुप्रिय! क्या यहां महानिर्यामक आए थे? सकडालपुत्र-देवानुप्रिय! कौन महानिर्यामक? गोशालक-श्रमण भगवान् महावीर महानिर्यामक है। सकडालपुत्र-किस प्रकार?
गोशालक-देवानुप्रिय! संसार रूपी महासमुद्र में बहुत से जीव नश्यमान, विनश्यमान एवं विलुप्यमान हैं डूब रहे हैं, गोते खा रहे हैं, बहते जा रहे हैं उनको सहारा देकर धर्ममयी नौका द्वारा मोक्ष रूपी किनारे पर ले जाते हैं । इसलिए मैं उनको महानिर्यामक-कर्णधार या महान् खेवैया कहता हूं। विवेचन
