सेठ पुखराजजी सा. शीशोदिया के व्यक्तित्व में अनूठापन है। उनकी दृष्टि इतनी पैनी और व्यापक है कि वे अपने आसपास के समाज के एक प्रकार से संचालन और परामर्शदाता होकर रहते हैं। संभवतः उन्हें जितनी चिन्ता अपने गार्हस्थिक कार्यों की रहती है उतनी ही दूसरे कार्यों की भी। श्री शीशोदियाजी के जीवन को देखकर सहसा ही प्राचीन काल के उन श्रावकों की सार्वजनिकता का स्मरण हो आता है जिनसे समाज का हर व्यक्ति सलाह व संरक्षण पाता था ।
शीशोदियाजी का जन्म सं० १९६८ में मार्गशीर्ष कृष्णपक्ष की चतुर्दशी के दिन ब्यावर में हुआ। पिताजी का नाम श्री हीरालालजी था । आपके पिताजी की आर्थिक स्थिति साधारण थी। शिक्षा भी वाणिज्य क्षेत्र तक सीमित थी। उन दिनों शिक्षा के आज की तरह प्रचुर साधन भी उपलब्ध नहीं थे। पिताजी आपके बाल्यकाल में ही स्वर्गवासी हो गये। इन सब कारणों से शीशोदियाजी को उच्चशिक्षा प्राप्त करने का अवसर प्राप्त नहीं हो सका। किन्तु शिक्षा का फल जिस योग्यता को प्राप्त करना है, और जिन शारीरिक, मानसिक एवं बौद्धिक शक्तियों का विकास करना हैं, वह योग्यता और वे शक्तियां उन्हें प्रचुर मात्रा में प्राप्त हैं। उनमें जन्मजात प्रतिभा है। उनकी प्रतिभा की परिधि बहुत विस्तृत है। व्यापारिक क्षेत्र में तथा अन्य सामाजिक और धार्मिक क्षेत्रों में आपको जो सफलता प्राप्त हुई है उसमें आपके व्यक्तित्व की अन्यान्य विशिष्टताओं के साथ आपकी प्रतिभा का वैशिष्ट्य भी कारण हैं।
जिसकी आर्थिक स्थिति सामान्य हो और बाल्यावस्था में ही जो पिता के संरक्षण से वंचित हो जाय, उसकी स्थिति कितनी दयनीय हो सकती है, यह कल्पना करना कठिन नहीं है । किन्तु ऐसे विरल नरपुंगव भी देखे जाते हैं जो बिना किसी के सहारे, बिना किसी के सहयोग और बिना किसी की सहायता के केवल मात्र अपने ही व्यक्तित्व के बल पर अपने पुरूषार्थ और पराक्रम से और अपने ही बुद्धिकौशल से जीवन - विकास पथ में आने वाली समस्त बाधाओं को कुचलते हुए आगे से आगे ही बढ़ते जाते हैं और सफलता के शिखर पर जा पहुँचते हैं।
आपके पिताजी का स्वर्गवास संवत् १९८० में हुआ। उस वक्त आपके परिवार में दादाजी, माताजी व बहिन थी। पिताजी के स्वर्गवास के पश्चात् शीशोदियाजी के लिये सभी दिशाएँ अन्धकार से व्याप्त हो गई। मगर लाचारी, विवशता, दीनता और हीनता की भावना उनके निकट भी नही फटक सकी। यही नहीं परिस्थितियों की प्रतिकूलता ने आपके साहस, संकल्प और मनोबल को अधिक सुदृढ़ किया और आप कर्मभूमि के क्षेत्र में उतर पड़े। मात्र बारह वर्ष की उम्र में आपने २००, दो सौ रूपया ऋण लेकर साधारण व्यवसाय प्रारंभ किया । स्वल्प-सी पूंजी और वह भी पराई, कितनी लगन और कितनी सावधानी उसे बढ़ाने के लिए बरतनी पड़ी होगी और कितना श्रम करना पड़ा होगा, यह अनुमान करना भी कठिन है। मगर प्रबल इच्छाशक्ति और
