________________ प्रथम अध्ययन : गाथापति आनन्द] ' [७३ जेणेव कोल्लाए सन्निवेसे, जेणेव नायकुले, जेणेव पोसह-साला, तेणेव उवागच्छइ, उवागच्छित्ता पोसहसालं पमज्जइ, पमज्जित्ता उच्चारपासवणभूमिं पडिलेहेइ, पडिलेहिता दब्भसंथारयं संथरइ, संथरेत्ता दब्भसंथारयं दुरूहइ, दुरूहित्ता पोसहसालाए पोसहिए दब्भसंथारोवगए समणस्स भगवओ महावीरस्स अंतियं धम्मपण्णत्तिं उवसंपज्जित्ताणं विहरइ। फिर आनन्द ने अपने ज्येष्ठ पुत्र, मित्र-वृन्द, जातीय जन आदि की अनुमति ली। अनुमति लेकर अपने घर से प्रस्थान किया। प्रस्थान कर वाणिज्यग्राम नगर के बीच से गुजरा, जहां कोल्लाक सन्निवेश था, ज्ञातकुल एवं ज्ञातकुल की पोषधशाला थी, वहां पहुंचा। पहुचकर पोषध-शाला का प्रमार्जन किया--सफाई की, शौच एवं लघुशंका के स्थान की प्रतिलेखना की। वैसा कर दर्भ--कुश का संस्तारक--बिछौना लगाया, उस पर स्थित हुआ, स्थित होकर पोषधशाला में पोषध स्वीकार कर श्रमण भगवान् महावीर के पास स्वीकृत धर्म-प्रज्ञप्ति--धार्मिक शिक्षा के अनुरूप साधना-निरत हो गया। ७०. तए णं से आणंदे समणोवासए उवासगपडिमाओ उवसंपजित्ताणं विहरइ। पढमं उवासगपडिमं अहासुत्तं, अहाकप्पं, अहामग्गं, अहातच्चं सम्मं कारणं फासेइ, पालेइ, सोहेइ, तीरेइ, कित्तेइ, आराहेइ। • तदन्तर श्रमणोपासक आन्नद के उपासक-प्रतिमाएं स्वीकार की। पहली उपासक-प्रतिमा उसने यथाश्रुत--शास्त्र के अनुसार, यथाकल्प--प्रतिमा के आचार या मर्यादा के अनुसार, यथामार्ग-- विधि या क्षायोपशमिक भाव के अनुसार, यथातत्त्व--सिद्धान्त या दर्शन-प्रतिमा के शब्द के तात्पर्य के अनुरूप भली-भांति सहज रूप में ग्रहण की, उसका पालन किया, अतिचार-रहित अनुसरण कर उसे शोधित किया अथवा गुरू-भक्तिपूर्वक अनुपालन द्वारा शोभित किया, तीर्ण किया--आदि से अन्त तक अच्छी तरह पूर्ण किया, कीर्तित किया--सम्यक् परिपालन द्वारा अभिनन्दित किया, आराधित किया। ७१. तए णं से आणंदे समणोवासए दोच्चं उवासगपडिमं, एवं तच्चं, चउत्थं, पंचमं, छठें, सत्तमं, अट्ठमं, नवमं, दसमं, एक्कारसमं जाव ( अहासुत्तं, अहाकप्पं, अहामग्गं, अहातच्चं सम्मं काएणं फासेइ, पालेइ, सोहेइ, तीरेइ, कित्तेइ,) आराहेइ। श्रमणोपासक आनन्द ने तत्पश्चात् दूसरी, तीसरी, चौथी, पांचवी, छठी, सातवी, आठवीं, नौवी, दसवीं तथा ग्यारहवीं प्रतिमा की आराधना की। [उनका यथाश्रुत, यथाकल्प, यथामार्ग एवं यथातत्व भली-भांति स्पर्श. पालन. शोधन तथा प्रशस्ततापूर्ण समापन किया। विवेचन प्रस्तुत सूत्र में आनन्द द्वारा ग्यारह उपासक-प्रतिमाओं की आराधना का उल्लेख है। उपासकप्रतिमा गृहस्थ साधक के धर्माराधन का एक उत्तरोत्तर विकासोन्मुख विशेष क्रम है, जहां आराधक विशिष्ट धार्मिक क्रिया के उत्कृष्ट अनुष्ठान में संलीन हो जाता है। प्रतिमा शब्द जहां प्रतीक या प्रतिबिम्ब आदि का वाचक है, वहाँ इसका एक अर्थ प्रतिमान या मापदण्ड भी है। साधक जहाँ किसी एक
