[१५३ सप्तनवतिस्थानक-समवाय ४३६-मंदरस्सणं पव्वयस्स पच्चच्छिमिल्लाओ चरमंताओ गोथुभस्सणं आवासपव्वयस्स पच्चच्छिमिल्ले चरमंते एस णं सत्ताणउइजोयणसहस्साइं अबाहाए अंतरे पण्णत्ते। एवं चउदिसिं पि।
मन्दर पर्वत के पश्चिमी चरमान्त भाग से गोस्तुभ आवास-पर्वत का पश्चिमी चरमान्त भाग सत्तानवै हजार योजन अन्तर वाला कहा गया है। इसी प्रकार चारों ही दिशाओं में जानना चाहिये।
विवेचन-मेरु पर्वत के पश्चिमी भाग से जम्बूद्वीप का पूर्वी भाग पचपन हजार योजन है और उससे गोस्तुभ पर्वत का पश्चिमी भाग वियालीस हजार योजन दूर है। अत: चारों आवास पर्वतों का सूत्रोक्त सत्तानवै हजार योजन का अन्तर सिद्ध हो जाता है।
४३७–अटुण्डं कम्मपगडीणं सत्ताणउई उत्तरपगडीओ पण्णत्ताओ। आठों कर्मों की उत्तर प्रकृतियां सत्तानवै (५+९+२+२८+४+४२+२+५=९७) कही गई हैं।
४३८-हरिसेणे णं राया चाउरंतचक्कवट्टी देसूणाई सत्ताणउइं वाससयाई अगारमझे वसित्ता मुंडे भवित्ता णं अगाराओ अणगारियं पव्वइए। __ . चातुरन्तचक्रवर्ती हरिषेण राजा कुछ कम सत्तानवै सौ (९७००) वर्ष अगारवास में रहकर मुंडित हो अगार से अनगारिता में प्रवजित हुए।

अष्टानवतिस्थानक-समवाय ४३९-नंदणवणस्स णं उवरिल्लाओ चरमंताओ, पंडुयवणस्स हेट्ठिल्ले चरमंते एस णं अट्ठाणउइजोयणसहस्साइं अबाहाए अंतरे पण्णत्ते।
नंन्दनवन के ऊपरी चरमान्त भाग से पांडुक वन के निचले चरमान्त भाग का अन्तर अट्ठानवै हजार योजन है।
विवेचन-नन्दनवन समभूमि तल से पांच सौ योजन ऊंचाई पर अवस्थित है और उसकी आठों दिशाओं में अवस्थित कूट भी पाँच पाँच सौ योजन ऊंचे हैं। अतः दोनों मिलकर एक हजार योजन ऊंचाई नन्दनवन की हो जाती है। मेरु की ऊंचाई समभूमि भाग से निन्यानवै हजार योजन है, उसमें से उक्त एक हजार के घटा देने पर सूत्रोक्त अट्ठानवै हजार का अन्तर सिद्ध हो जाता है।
