[ समवायाङ्गसूत्र पर दश हजार योजन के विस्तार वाला मध्यवर्ती भाग सर्वत्र एक हजार योजन गहरा है । और उसके पहिले सर्व ओर का जलभाग समुद्रतट तक उतरोत्तर हीन है ।
४३१ - कुंथू णं अरहा पंचाणउई वाससहस्साइं परमाउयं पालइत्ता सिद्धे बुद्धे जाव सव्वदुक्खप्पहीणे । थेरे णं मोरियपुत्ते पंचाणउड़वासाइं सव्वाउयं पालइत्ता सिद्धे बुद्धे जाव सव्वदुक्खप्पहीणे।
कुन्थु अर्हत् पंचानवै हजार वर्ष की परमायु भोग कर सिद्ध, बुद्ध, कर्ममुक्त, परिनिर्वाण को प्राप्त और सर्व दुःखों से रहित हुए । स्थविर मौर्यपुत्र पंचानवै वर्ष की सर्व आयु भोग कर सिद्ध, बुद्ध, कर्ममुक्त, परिनिर्वाण को प्राप्त और सर्व दुःखों से रहित हुए ।

४३२ – एगमेगस्स णं रन्नो चाउरंतचक्कवट्टिस्स छण्णउई छण्णउई गामकोडीओ होत्था । प्रत्येक चातुरन्त चक्रवर्ती राजा के ( राज्य में ) छ्यानवै छयानवे करोड़ ग्राम थे ।
४३३ - वायुकुमाराणं छण्णउदं भवणावाससयसहस्सा पण्णत्ता ।
वायुकुमार देवों के छयानवे लाख आवास (भवन) कहे गये हैं ।
४३४ - ववहारिए णं दंडे छण्णउई अंगुलाई अंगुलमाणेणं । एवं धणू नालिया जुगे अक्खे मुसले विहु ।
व्यावहारिक दण्ड अंगुल के माप से छयानवे अंगुल - प्रमाण होता है। इसी प्रकार धनुष, नालिका, युग, अक्ष और मूल भी जानना चाहिए ।
विवेचन – अंगुल दो प्रकार का है - व्यावहारिक और अव्यावहारिक । जिससे हस्त, धनुष, गव्यूति आदि के नापने का व्यवहार किया जाता है, वह व्यावहारिक अंगुल कहा जाता है। अव्यावहारिक अंगुल प्रत्येक मनुष्य के अंगुल - मान की अपेक्षा छोटा-बड़ा भी होता है । उसकी यहाँ विवक्षा नहीं की गई है। चौबीस अंगुल का एक हाथ होता है और चार हाथ का एक दण्ड होता है । इस प्रकार ( २४ x ४ = ९६) एक दण्ड छयानवै अंगुल प्रमाण होता है । इसी प्रकार धनुष आदि भी छयानवे - छयानवे अंगुल प्रमाण होते हैं।
४३५ – अब्भितरओ आइमुहुत्ते छण्णउड़ अंगुलच्छाए पण्णत्ते ।
आभ्यन्तर मण्डल पर सूर्य के संचार करते समय आदि (प्रथम) मुहूर्त छयानवे अंगुल की छाया वाला कहा गया है
