[समवायाङ्गसूत्र और दिवसक्षेत्र (दिन) के बढ़ा कर संचार करता है।
विवेचन-सूर्य छह मास दक्षिणायण और छह मास उत्तरायण रहता है। जब वह उत्तर दिशा के सबसे बाहरी मंडल से लौटता हुआ दक्षिणायण होता है उस समय वह प्रतिमंडल पर एक मुहूर्त के इकसठ भागों से दो भाग प्रमाण दिन का प्रमाण घटाता हुआ और इतना ही रात का प्रमाण बढ़ाता हुआ परिभ्रमण करता है। इस प्रकार जब वह चवालीसवें मंडल पर परिभ्रमण करता है, तब वह मुहूर्त के अठासी इकसठ भाग प्रमाण दिन को घटा देता है और रात को उतना ही बढ़ा देता है। इसी प्रकार दक्षिणायण से उत्तरायण जाने पर चवालीसवें मंडल में अठासी इकसठ भाग रात को घटा कर और उतना ही दिन को बढ़ाकर परिभ्रमण करता है। इस प्रकार वर्तमान मिनट सैकण्ड के अनुसार सूर्य अपने दक्षिणायण काल में प्रतिदिन १ मिनट ५ १२० सैकण्ड दिन की हानि और रात की वृद्धि करता है। तथा उत्तरायण काल के प्रतिदिन १ मी.५ १२० से. दिन की वृद्धि और रात की हानि करता हुआ परिभ्रमण करता है। उक्त व्यवस्था के अनुसार दक्षिणायण के अन्तिम मंडल में परिभ्रण करने पर दिन १२ मुहुर्त का होता है और रात १८ मुहूर्त की होती है। तथा उत्तरायण के अन्तिम मंडल में परिभ्रण करने पर दिन १८ मुहूर्त का होता है और रात १२ मुहूर्त की होती है।
॥अष्टाशीतिस्थानक समवाय समाप्त॥
एकोननवतिस्थानक-समवाय ४१२-उसभे णं अरहा कोसलिए इमीसे ओसप्पिणीए ततियाए सुसमदूसमाए पच्छिमे भागे एगूणणउइए अद्धमासेहिं [ सेसेहिं ] कालगए जाव सव्वदुक्खप्पहीणे।समणे णं भगवं महावीरे इमीसे ओसप्पिणीए चउत्थाए दूसमसुसमाए समाए पच्छिमे भागे एगणनउइए अद्धमासेहिं सेसेहिं कालगए जाव सव्वदुक्खप्पहीणे।
कौशलिक ऋषभ अर्हत् इसी अवसर्पिणी के तीसरे सुषमदुषमा आरे के पश्चिम भाग में नवासी अर्धमासों (३ वर्ष ८ मास १५दिन) के शेष रहने पर कालगत होकर सिद्ध, बुद्ध, कर्म-मुक्त, परिनिर्वाण को प्राप्त और सर्व दुःखों से रहित हुए।
___ श्रमण भगवान् महावीर इसी अवसर्पिणी के चौथे दुःषमसुषमा काल के अन्तिम भाग में नवासी अर्धमासों (३ वर्ष ८ मास १५ दिन) के शेष रहने पर कालगत होकर सिद्ध, बुद्ध, कर्ममुक्त, परिनिर्वाण को प्राप्त और सर्वदुःखों से रहित हुए।
४१३-हरिसेणे णं राया चाउरंतचक्कवट्टी एगणनउई वाससयाहं महाराया होत्था। चातुरन्त चक्रवर्ती हरिषेणराजा नवासी सौ (८९००) वर्ष महासाम्राज्य पद पर आसीन रहे। ४१४-संतिस्सणं अरहओ एगूणनउई अज्जासाहस्सीओ उक्कोसिया अजियासंपया होत्था। शान्तिनाथ अर्हत् के संघ में नवासी हजार आर्यिकाओं की उत्कृष्ट आर्यिकासम्पदा थी।
