[८७ अप्पणो य अबोही य महामोहं पकुव्वइ ॥२९॥२५॥ जे कहाहिगरणाइं संपउंजे पुणो पुणो । सव्वतित्थाण भेयाणं महामोहं पकुव्वइ ॥३०॥२६॥ जे य आहम्मिए जोए संपउंजे पुणो पुणो । सहाहेउं सहीहेडं महामोहं पकुव्वइ ॥३१॥२७॥ जे अ माणुस्सए भोए अदुवा पारलोइए । तेऽतिप्पयंतो आसयइ महामोहं पकुव्वइ ॥३२॥२८॥ इड्डी जुई जसो वण्णो देवाणं बल-वीरियं । तेसिं अवण्णवं बाले महामोहं पकुव्वइ ॥३३॥२९॥ अपस्समाणो पस्सामि देवे जक्खे य गझगे।
अण्णाणी जिणपूयट्टी महामोहं पकुव्वइ ॥३४॥३०॥ मोहनीय कर्म बंधने के कारणभूत तीस स्थान कहे गये हैं, जैसे
(१) जो कोई व्यक्ति स्त्री-पशु आदि त्रस-प्राणियों को जल के भीतर प्रविष्ट कर और पैरों को नीचे दबा कर जल के द्वारा उन्हें मारता है, वह महामोहनीय कर्म का बंध करता है। यह पहला मोहनीय स्थान है।
(२) जो व्यक्ति किसी मनुष्य आदि के शिर को गीले चर्म से वेष्टित करता है तथा निरन्तर तीव्र अशुभ पापमय कार्यों को करता रहता है, वह महामोहनीय कर्म का बंध करता है। यह दूसरा मोहनीय स्थान है।
(३) जो कोई किसी प्राणी के मुख को हाथ से बन्द कर उसका गला दबाकर घुरघुराते हुए उसे मारता है, वह महामोहनीय कर्म का बन्ध करता है। वह तीसरा मोहनीय स्थान है।
(४) जो कोई अग्नि को जला कर या अग्नि का महान् आरम्भ कर किसी मनुष्य-पशु आदि को उसमें जलाता है या अत्यन्त धूमयुक्त अग्निस्थान में प्रविष्ट कर धुएं से उसका दम घोंटता है, वह महामोनीय कर्म का बन्ध करता है। यह चौथा मोहनीय स्थान है।
(५) जो किसी प्राणी के उत्तमाङ्ग-शिर पर मुद्गर आदि से प्रहार करता है अथवा अति संक्लेश युक्त चित्त से उसके माथे को फरसा आदि से काटकर मार डालता है, वह महामोहनीय कर्म का बन्ध करता है। वह पाँचवां मोहनीय स्थान है।
(६)जो कपट करके किसी मनुष्य का घात करता है और आनन्द से हंसता है, किसी मंत्रित फल को खिला कर अथवा डंडे से मारता है, वह महामोहनीय कर्म का बंध करता है। यह छठा मोहनीय स्थान है।
(७) जो गूढ (गुप्त) पापाचरण करने वाला मायाचार से अपनी माया को छिपाता है, असत्य बोलता है और सूत्रार्थ का अपलाप करता है, वह महामोहनीय कर्म का बन्ध करता है। यह सातवाँ मोहनीय स्थान है।
