5 objects, attachment, hatred and mental disturbance. It is devoid of फ 5 meritorious result. It is full of deceit and non-trust worthy words. Mean people adopt it. It is inhuman, dis-compassionate and condemned. It 5 destroys mutual affection and trust. It is disliked by the noble and cultured people. It causes pain to those for whom it is used. It is full of extremely worst thought activity. In other words only such people use such words who are in heinous thought activity. It causes birth again and again in demerit state of existence. It increases the circle of life, death and re-birth in the mundane world. Jiva has been experiencing it since beginningless period. It has been accompanying the living being continuously. So it can be finished only with great effort. Its result is extremely deplorable.
विवेचन : असत्य वचनों का प्रयोग ऐसे मनुष्य ही करते हैं जिनमें गुणों की गरिमा नहीं होती, जो क्षुद्र, हीन, तुच्छ या लुच्चे होते हैं। जो अपने वचनों का स्वयं ही मूल्य नहीं जानते, उतावल में सोचे बिना चंचलतापूर्वक जो 5 वचन बोले जाते हैं, वे स्व-पर के लिए भयंकर सिद्ध होते हैं। उनके फलस्वरूप अनेक प्रकार के दुःख भोगने पड़ते हैं। साधुजन-सत्पुरुष सुविचारित सत्य तथ्य का ही प्रयोग करते हैं और वह भी ऐसा कि जिससे किसी को पीड़ा न हो, क्योंकि पीड़ाजनक वचन तथ्य होकर भी सत्य नहीं कहलाता।
असत्यभाषी को संसार में निन्दा और तिरस्कार का पात्र बनना पड़ता है। असत्यभाषण करके जिन्हें धोखा दिया जाता अथवा हानि पहुँचाई जाती है, उनके साथ वैर बँध जाता है और कभी-कभी उस वैर की परम्परा अनेकानेक भवों तक चलती रहती है। असत्यभाषी के अन्तर में यदि स्वल्प भी उज्ज्वलता का अंश होता है तो उसके मन में भी संक्लेश बोलने पर पश्चात्ताप उत्पन्न होता है। जिसे ठगा जाता है उसके मन में तो संक्लेश होता
ही है।
असत्यभाषी को अपनी प्रामाणिकता प्रकट करने के लिए अनेक प्रकार के जाल रचने पड़ते हैं, धूर्त्तता, कपट का आश्रय लेना पड़ता है।
असत्य दुर्गति में ले जाता है और संसार परिभ्रमण की वृद्धि करने वाला है।

असत्यभाषी अपने असत्य को छिपाने के लिए कितना ही प्रयत्न क्यों न करे, अन्त में प्रकट हो जाता है। जब प्रकट हो जाता है तो असत्यभाषी की सच्ची बात पर भी कोई विश्वास नहीं करता। उसकी विश्वसनीयता खत्म हो जाती है।
'परपीडाकारगं' कहकर शास्त्रकार ने बताया है। असत्य एक प्रकार की हिंसा का ही रूप है।
