EIGHTH SHATAK (Chapter Eight): NINTH LESSON: BANDH (BONDAGE)
बन्ध के दो प्रकार : प्रयोगबन्ध और विस्रसाबन्ध TWO TYPES OF BONDAGE १. [ प्र. ] कइविहे णं भंते! बंधे पण्णत्ते ?
[उ. ] गोयमा ! दुविहे बंधे पण्णत्ते, तं जहा-पयोगबंधे य, वीससाबंधे य ।
१. [ प्र. ] भगवन् ! बन्ध कितने प्रकार का कहा गया है ?
[ उ. ] गौतम ! बन्ध दो प्रकार का कहा गया है - ( १ ) प्रयोगबन्ध, और (२) विस्रसाबन्ध ।
1. [Q.] Bhante ! How many types of bondage (bandh) are said to be there ?
[Ans.] Gautam! Bondage is said to be of two types -- ( 1 ) Prayoga bandh (bondage acquired by action) and (2) Visrasa bandh (bondage acquired naturally or spontaneously).

विवेचन: प्रयोगबन्ध - जो जीव के प्रयोग से अर्थात् मन, वचन और कायारूप योगों की प्रवृत्ति से बन्धता है। विस्रसाबन्ध - जो स्वाभाविक रूप से बन्धता है।
विस्रसबन्ध के भेद-प्रभेद और स्वरूप TYPES OF NATURAL BONDAGE
२. [ प्र.] वीससाबंधे णं भंते ! कइविहे पण्णत्ते ?
उ.] गोयमा ! दुविहे पण्णत्ते, तं जहा-साईयवीससाबंधे य अणाईयवीससाबंधे य ।
२. [ प्र. ] भगवन् ! विस्रसाबन्ध कितने प्रकार का कहा गया है ?
[उ. ] गौतम ! वह दो प्रकार का कहा गया है । यथा - ( १ ) सादिक विस्रसाबन्ध, और ( २ ) अनादिक विस्रसाबन्ध ।
2. [Q.] Bhante ! How many types of natural bondage (visrasa bandh) are said to be there?
Elaboration (1) Prayoga bandh-bondage acquired by a living being through action; in other words bondage acquired through mental, vocal 卐 and physical activity. ( 2 ) Visrasa bandh - bondage acquired naturally; फ this includes natural bonds.
