चौंतीस अतिशय विशेषों से युक्त हैं। ऐसे अर्हत महान्, अनन्त, सन्त, परमात्मा, परम महानुभाव, वीर, तीर्थंकर, देवाधिदेव जिन्हें केवलज्ञान उत्पन्न है, ऐसे विमलज्ञानवाले, आठ प्रातिहार्यों के चिह्नोंवाले, विश्व के पापरूपी अन्धकार को दूर करने के लिए एकमात्र सूर्य, स्वामी वर्धमान विपुलाचल पर आये हैं। यह सुनकर, शत्रुओं हृदयों के लिए शल्य के समान, शत्रुनगर के लिए दावानल, सुभटों में मल्ल, तथा जिसका जिनधर्म के लिए अनुराग बढ़ रहा है ऐसे उस राजाधिराज ने आसन छोड़कर शीघ्र सात पैर चलकर, निम्नलिखित स्तुति-वचन कहते हुए प्रमाण किया।
धत्ता - बृहस्पति जिनके चरणों में प्रणत हैं ऐसे हे त्रिभुवन गुरु और समस्त प्रजा का हित करनेवाले, आपकी जय हो। अपने समस्त रोगों का नाश करनेवाले तथा भरत क्षेत्र के नियामक सूर्य और चन्द्र से भी अधिक तेजवाले जिन, आपकी जय हो ॥ १८ ॥
इस प्रकार त्रेसठ महापुरुषों के गुणालंकारवाले महापुराण में महाकवि पुष्पदन्त द्वारा विरचित तथा महाभव्य भरत द्वारा अनुमत महाकाव्य का सन्मति समागम नाम का पहला परिच्छेद समाप्त हुआ ॥ १ ॥

प्रणाम कर प्रसन्न मन, भक्तिराग और हर्ष से उछलता हुआ वह राजा अपने परिजन के साथ जिनेन्द्र भगवान् के पास चला।
