मानानूननयप्रमाणनिपुणोऽगण्यैर्गुणैर्भूषितः
शिष्यः श्रीगुणभद्रसूरिश्नयोरासीजगद्विश्रुतः ॥ १४ ॥ पुण्यत्रियोऽयमजयत्सुभगत्वदर्प
मित्याकलय्य परिशुद्धमतिस्तपश्रीः । मुक्तिश्रिया पटुतमा प्रहितेव दूती
प्रीत्या महागुणधर्न समशिश्रियद्यम् ॥ १५॥ तस्य वचनांशुविसरः सन्ततहतदुस्तरान्तरङ्गतमाः । कुवलयपनाहादी जितशिशिराशिशिररश्मिप्रसरः ॥ १६ ॥ कविपरमेश्वरनिगदितगद्यकथामातृकं पुरोश्चरितम् । सकलच्छन्दोलकतिलक्ष्य सूक्ष्मार्थगूढपदरचनम् ॥ १७॥ ब्यावर्णनानुसारं साक्षात्कृतसर्वशास्त्रसद्भावम् । अपहस्तितान्यकाव्यं श्रयं व्युत्पन्नमतिभिरादेयम् ॥ १८॥ जिनसेनभगवतोक्त मिथ्याकविदर्पदलनमतिललितम् । सिद्धान्तोपनिबन्धनका भी विनेयानाम् ॥ १९ ॥ अतिविस्तरभीरुत्वादवशिष्टं सगृहीतममलधिया ।। गुणभद्रसूरिणेदं
प्रहीणकालानुरोधेन ॥ २० ॥ ग्यावर्णनादिरहितं सुबोधमखिलं सुलेखमखिलहितम् ।।
महितं महापुराणं पठन्तु शृण्वन्तु भक्तिमद्रव्याः ॥ २१ ॥ इदं भावयतां पुंसां भूयो भवबिभित्सया। भव्यानां भाविसिद्धीनां शुद्धवृतविद्वताम् ॥ २२ ॥ शान्तिद्धिर्जयः श्रेयः प्रायः प्रेयः समागमः । विगमो विप्लवव्याप्तरासिरत्यर्थसम्पदाम् ॥ २३ ॥
प्रगल्भ तथा देदीप्यमान ( तीक्ष्ण ) थी, जो अनेक नय और प्रमाणके ज्ञानमें निपुण था, अगणित गुणोंसे भूषित था तथा समस्त जगत्में प्रसिद्ध था ऐसा गुणभद्राचार्य, उन्हीं जिनसेनाचार्य तथा दशरथ गुरुका शिष्य था ॥ १४ ॥ 'गुणभद्र ने पुण्य-रूपी लक्ष्मीके सौभाग्यशाली होनेका गर्व जीत लिया है। ऐसा समझकर मुक्तिरूपी लक्ष्मीने उनके पास अत्यन्त चतुर दूतके समान विशुद्ध बुद्धि वाली तपोलक्ष्मीको भेजा था और वह तपोलक्ष्मीरूपी दृती महागुण-रूपी धनसे सम्पन्न रहनेवाले उस गुणभद्रकी बड़ी प्रीतिसे सेवा करती रहती थी॥१५॥
उन गुणभद्रके वचनरूपी किरणोंके समूहने हृदयमें रहनेवाले अज्ञानान्धकारको सदाके लिए नष्ट कर दिया था और वह कुवलय तथा कमल दोनोंको आह्लादित करनेवाला था (पक्षमें महीमण्डलकी लक्ष्मीको हर्षित करनेवाला था) इस तरह उसने चन्द्रमा और सूर्य दोनोंके प्रसारको जीत लिया था ॥ १६॥ परमेश्वर कविके द्वारा कथित गद्य काव्य जिसका आधार है, जो समस्त छन्दों
और अलंकारोंका उदाहरण है, जिसमें सूक्ष्म अर्थ और गूढ़पदोंकी रचना है, जिसने अन्य काव्योंको तिरस्कृत कर दिया है, जो श्रवण करनेके योग्य है, मिथ्या कवियोंके दर्पको खण्डित करनेवाला है,
और अतिशय सुन्दर है ऐसा यह महापुराण सिद्धान्त ग्रन्थपर टीका लिखनेवाले तथा शिष्यजनोंका चिरकाल तक पालन करनेवाले श्री जिनसेन भगवान्ने कहा है ॥१७-१६ ॥ ग्रन्थका जो भाग, भगवान् जिनसेनके कथनसे बाकी बच रहा था उसे निर्मल बुद्धिके धारक गुणभद्र सूरिने हीनकालके अनुरोधसे तथा भारी विस्तारके भयसे संक्षेपमें ही संगृहीत किया है ॥२०॥ यह महापुराण व्यर्थके वर्णनसे रहित है, सरलतासे समझा जा सकता है, उत्तम लेखसे युक्त है, सब जीवोंका हित करनेवाला है, तथा पूजित है-सब इसकी पूजा करते हैं ऐसे इस समय महापुराण ग्रन्थको भक्तिसे भरे हुए भव्य जीव अच्छी तरह पढ़े तथा सुनें ॥ २१ ॥ संसारके छेदकी इच्छासे जो भव्य जीव इस ग्रन्थका बार-बार चिन्तवन करते हैं, ऐसे निर्मल सम्यग्दर्शन, सम्यग्वान और सम्यक् चारित्रके
