महापुराणे उत्तरपुराणम सामानिकादिभिर्देवैर्देवीभिश्च परिष्कृतः । पुण्योदयविशेषेण मजति स्म सुखाम्बुधौ । २५० ॥ तस्मिन्षण्मासशेषायुष्यानाकादागमिष्यति । भरतेऽस्मिन्विदेहाख्ये विषये भवनाङ्गणे ॥ २५ ॥ राज्ञः कुण्डपुरेशस्य वसुधारापतत्पृथुः । सप्तकोटिमगिः सार्धा सिद्धार्थस्य दिनम्प्रति ॥ २५२ ॥ आषाढस्य सिते पक्षे षष्ठ्यां शशिनि चोचरा । पाढे सप्ततलप्रासादस्याभ्यन्तरवतिनि ॥ २५३ ॥ नन्यावर्तगृहे रत्नदीपिकाभिः प्रकाशिते । रत्नपर्यकके हंसतूलिकादिविभूषिते ॥ २५४ ॥ रौद्रराक्षसगन्धर्वयामत्रितयनिर्गमे । मनोहराख्यतुर्यस्य यामस्यान्ते प्रसनधीः ॥ २५५ ॥ 'दरनिद्रावलोकिष्ट विशिष्टफलदायिनः । स्वमान् षोडशविच्छिन्नान् प्रियास्य प्रियकारिणी ॥ २५६ ॥ तदन्तेऽपश्यदन्या गजं वक्त्रप्रवेशिनम् । प्रभातपटहभ्वानैः पठितैर्वन्दिमागधैः ॥ २५७ ॥ मङ्गलैध प्रबुड्याशु नास्वा पुण्यप्रसाधना। सा सिद्धार्थमहाराजमुपगम्य कृतानतिः ॥ २५८ ॥ सम्प्रासार्धासना स्वमान्यथाक्रममुदाहरत् । सोऽपि तेषां फलं भावि 'यथाक्रममबूबुधत् ॥ २५९ ॥ श्रुतस्वमफला देवी तुष्टा प्राप्लेव तत्फलम् । अथामराधिपाः सर्वे तयोरभ्येत्य सम्पदा ॥ २६ ॥ कल्याणाभिषवं कृत्वा नियोगेषु यथोचितम् । देवान् देवीश्च संयोज्य स्वं स्वं धाम ययुः पृथक् ॥ २६ ॥ नवमे मासि सम्पूर्णे चैत्रे मासि त्रयोदशी-। दिने शुले शुभे योगे सत्यर्यमणि नामनि ॥ २६२॥ अलङ्कारः कुलस्याभूच्छीलानामालयो महान् । आकरो गुणरस्नानामाश्रयो विश्रतश्रियः॥ २६३ ॥
बल, कान्ति तथा विक्रियाकी अवधि भी अवधिज्ञानके क्षेत्रके बराबर ही थी॥ २४६ ॥ सामानिक देव और देवियोंसे घिरा हुआ वह इन्द्र अपने पुण्य कर्मके विशेष उदयसे सुख रूपी सागरमें सदा निमग्न रहता था ॥ २५० ॥ जब उसकी आयु छह माहकी बाकी रह गई और वह स्वर्गसे पानेको उद्यत हुआ तब इसी भरत क्षेत्रके विदेह नामक देशसम्बन्धी कुण्डपुर नगरके राजा सिद्धाथेके भवनके प्रांगनमें प्रतिदिन साढ़े सातकरोड़ रनोंकी बड़ी मोटी धारा बरसने लगी ॥२५१-२५२ ।।
आषाढ़ शुक्ल षष्ठीके दिन जब कि चन्द्रमा उत्तराषाढा नक्षत्रमें था तब राजा सिद्धार्थकी प्रसन्नबद्धि वाली रानी प्रियकारिणी, सातखण्ड वाले राजमहलके भीतर रत्नमय दीपकोंसे प्रकाशित नन्द्यावर्त नामक राजभवनमें हंस-तूलिका आदिसे सुशोभित रत्नोंके पलंगपर सो रही थी। जब उस रात्रिके रौद्र, राक्षस और गन्धर्व नामके तीन पहर निकल चुके और मनोहर नामक चौथे पहरका अन्त. होनेको आया तब उसने कुछ खुली-सी नींदमें सोलह स्वप्न देखे। सोलह स्वप्नोंके बाद ही उसने मुखमें प्रवेश करता हुआ एक अन्य हाथी देखा। तदनन्तर सबेरेके समय बजने वाले नगाड़ोंकी आवाजसे तथा चारण और मागधजनोंके द्वारा पढ़े हुए मङ्गलपाठोंसे वह जाग उठी और शीघ्र ही स्नान कर पवित्र वस्त्राभूषण पहन महाराज सिद्धार्थके समीप गई। वहाँ नमस्कार कर वह महाराजके द्वारा दिये हुए अर्धासनपर विराजमान हुई और यथाक्रमसे स्वप्न सुनाने लगी। महाराजने भी उसे यथाक्रमसे स्वप्नोंका होनहार फल बतलाया ॥ २५३-२५६ ॥ स्वप्नोंका फल सुनकर वह इतनी संतुष्ट हुई मानो उसने उनका फल उसी समय प्राप्त ही कर लिया हो। तदनन्तर सब देवोंने
आकर बड़े वैभवके साथ राजा सिद्धार्थ और रानी प्रियकारिणीका गर्भकल्याणक सम्बन्धी अभिषेक किया. देव और देवियोंको यथायोग्य कार्यों में नियुक्त किया और यह सब करनेके बाद वे अलगअलग अपने-अपने स्थानों पर चले गये ॥२६०-२६१ ॥ तदनन्तर नौवाँ माह पूर्ण होनेपर चैत्रशुक्ल त्रयोदशीके दिन अर्यमा नामके शुभ योगमें, जिस प्रकार पूर्व दिशामें बाल सूर्य उत्पन्न होता है, रात्रिमें चन्द्रमा उत्पन्न होता है, पद्म नामक ह्रदमें गङ्गाका प्रवाह उत्पन्न होता है, पृथिवीमें धनका समूह प्रकट होता है, सरस्वती शब्दोंका समूह उत्पन्न होता है और लक्ष्मीमें सुखका उदय उत्पन्न होता है उसी प्रकार उस रानीमें वह अच्युतेन्द्र नामका पुत्र उत्पन्न हुआ। वह पुत्र अपने कुलका आभूषण था, शीलका बड़ा भारी घर था, गुणरूपी रत्नोंकी खान था, प्रसिद्ध
