महापुराणे उत्तरपुराणम् विभीषणदिभिश्चामा भूमिपैः पञ्चभिः शतैः । अशीतिशतपुत्रैश्च सह संयममातवाम् ॥७११॥ तथा सीता महादेवी पृथिवीसुन्दरी युताः । देव्यः श्रुतवती शान्तिनिकटे तपसि स्थिताः ॥१२॥ तौ राजयुवराजौ च गृहीतश्रावकव्रतौ। जिनाघ्रियुग्ममानम्य सम्यक् प्राविशता पुरीम् ॥१३॥ मोक्षमार्गमनुष्ठाय यथाशक्ति यथाविधि । रामाणुमन्तौ सम्जातौ श्रुतकेवलिनी मुनी ॥७॥१॥ जाताः शेषाश्च बुद्ध्यादिसप्तद्धर्याविष्कृतोदयाः । एवं छद्मस्थकालेऽस्य पञ्चाब्दोनचतुःशतेः ॥७१५॥ व्यतीतवति सध्यान विशेषाद्धतघातिनः । रामस्य केवलज्ञानमुदपायर्कबिम्बवत् ॥ १६॥ समुद्तैकछत्रादिप्रातिहार्यविभूषितः । असिञ्चगव्यसस्यानां वृष्टि धर्ममयीमसौ ॥ १७ ॥ एवं केवलबोधेन नीत्वा षट्शतवत्सरान् । फाल्गुने मासि पूर्वा शुक्लपक्षे चतुर्दशी ॥१८॥ दिने सम्मेदगिर्यग्रे तृतीयं शुक्लमाश्रितः। योगत्रितयमारुध्य समुच्छिन्नक्रियाश्रयः ॥ ७१९ ॥ निःशेषन्यक्कृताधातिकर्मा सोऽणुमदादिभिः । शरीरत्रितयापायादवापत्पदमुत्तमम् ॥२०॥ विभीषणादयः केचित् प्रापन्ननुदिशं पुनः । रामचत्रयग्रदेव्याद्याः काश्विदीयुरितोऽच्युतम् ॥७२१॥ शेषाः कल्पेऽभवान्नादौ लक्ष्मणश्चागतः क्रमात् । नरकात् संयम प्राप्य मोक्षलक्ष्मीमवाप्स्यति ॥२२॥ २....................... ...........। विनेयातस्य जन्तूनां भवेद्वैचित्र्यमीहशम् ॥ ७२३ ॥
वसन्ततिलका प्रोल्लध्य गोपदमिवाम्बुनिधिं स्वसैन्यै
रुद्ध्वा रिपोः पुरमगारमिवैकमल्पम् । निर्मूल्य वैरिकुलमाश्विव सस्यमीष
लक्षया सह क्षितिसुतामपहृत्य शत्रोः ॥ ७२४ ॥
जिन्हें रत्नत्रयकी प्राप्ति हुई है ऐसे रामचन्द्रजीने सुग्रीव, अणुमान् और विभीषण आदि पाँच सौ राजाओं तथा एक सौ अस्सी अपने पुत्रोंके साथ संयम धारण कर लिया ॥७०६-७११ ।। इसी प्रकार सीता महादेवी और पृथिवीसुन्दरीसे सहित अनेक देवियोंने श्रतवती आर्यिकाके समीप दीक्षा धारण कर ली ॥ ७१२ ।। तदनन्तर जिन्होंने श्रावकके व्रत ग्रहण किये हैं ऐसे राजा तथा युवराजने जिनेन्द्र भगवान्के चरण-युगलको अच्छी तरह नमस्कार कर नगरीमें प्रवेश किया ॥७९३ ॥ रामचन्द्र और अणुमान दोनों ही मुनि, शक्तिके अनुसार विधिपूर्वक मोक्षमार्गका अनुष्ठान कर श्रतकेवली हुए ॥७१४॥ शेष बचे हुए मुनिराज भी बुद्धि आदि सात ऋद्धियोंके ऐश्वर्यको हए। इस प्रकार जब छमस्थ अवस्थाके तीन सौ पंचानवे वर्ष बीत गये तब शुक्ल ध्यानके प्रभाषसे घातिया कर्मोका क्षय करनेवाले मुनिराज रामचन्द्रको सूर्य-विम्बके समान केवलज्ञान उत्पन्न हुआ ॥७१५-७१६ ॥ प्रकट हुए एकछत्र आदि प्रातिहार्योंसे विभूषित हुए केवल रामचन्द्रजीने धर्ममयी ष्टिके द्वारा भव्य-जीवरूपी धान्यके पौधोंको सींचा ॥ ७१७ । इस प्रकार केवलज्ञानके द्वारा उन्होंने छह सौ वर्ष बिताकर फाल्गुन शुक्ल चतुर्दशीके दिन प्रातःकालके समय सम्मेदाचलकी शिखर पर तीसरा शतध्यान धारण किया और तीनों योंगोंका निरोधकर समुच्छिन्नक्रियाप्रतिपाती नामक चौथे शुक्ल ध्यानके आश्रयसे समस्त अघातिया कर्मोका क्षय किया । इस प्रकार औदारिक, तैजस
और कार्मण इन तीन शरीरोंका नाश हो जानेसे उन्होंने अणुमान् आदिके साथ उन्नत पद-सि क्षेत्र प्राप्त किया ।। ७१८-७२० ।। विभीषण अादि कितने ही मुनि अनुदिशको प्राप्त हुए और रामचन्द्र तथा लक्ष्मणकी पट्टरानियाँ सीता तथा पृथिवीसुन्दरी आदि कितनी ही आर्यिकाएँ अच्यत स्वर्गमें उत्पन्न हुई ॥७२१ ॥ शेष रानियाँ प्रथम स्वर्गमें उत्पन्न हुई। लक्ष्मण नरकसे निकल कर क्रम-क्रमसे संयम धारण कर मोक्ष-लक्ष्मीको प्राप्त होगा । ७२२ ।। सो ठीक ही है क्योंकि जीवोंके इसी प्रकारकी विचित्रता होती है ।। ७२३ ।। जिन्होंने समुद्रको गोपदके समान उल्लङ्घन किया, जिन्होंने अपनी सेनासे शत्रुके नगरको एक छोटेसे घरके समान घेर लिया, जिन्होंने शत्रुके समस्त वंशको धानके
