महापुराणे उत्तरपुराणम् मानस्तम्भा सरांस्येतान्येतद्वनचतुष्टयम् । मध्येगन्धकुटी नूनं जिनेन्द्रः कोऽपि तिष्ठति ॥ १८७॥ इति तत्रावतीष शिवमन्दिरनायकः । सुतः कनकपुलस्य जयदेण्याश्च निश्चितः॥ १८८॥ दमितारेः पिता कीर्तिधरो नाम्ना विरक्तवान् । प्राप्य शान्तिकराभ्यासे प्रव्रज्या पारमेश्वरीम् ॥ ४४९ ॥
संवत्सरं समादाय प्रतिमायोगमागमन् । केवलावगमं भक्त्या सुनासीरादिपूजितः ॥ १९॥ इत्युक्त्वैव परीत्य त्रिः प्रप्रणम्य जिनेश्वरम् । श्रुतधर्मकथौ तत्र तस्थतुव॑स्तकल्मषौ ॥ ४९१ ॥ कनकश्रीः सहाभ्येत्य ताभ्यां भक्त्या पितामहम् । वन्दित्वा घातिहन्तारमप्राक्षीत्स्वभवान्तरम् ॥४९२॥ इति पृष्टो जिनाधीशो निजवागमृताम्बुभिः । तां तर्पयितुमित्याह परार्थैकफले हितः ॥ ४९३ ॥ अत्र जम्बूद्रमालक्ष्यद्वीपेऽस्यां भरतावनौ । शङ्खाख्यनगरे वैश्यो देविलस्तत्सुताभवः ॥ ४९४ ॥ बन्धुधियां त्वमेवैका श्रीदचा ज्यायसी सती । सुताः पराः कनीयस्यः कुटी पङ्ग कुणी तथा ॥४९५॥ वधिरा कुब्जका काणा खब्जा पोषिका स्वयम् । स्वं कदाचिन्मुनि सर्वयशसं सर्वशैलगम् ॥ ४९६ ॥ अभिवन्य शर्म याता हिंसाविरमणव्रतम् । गृहीत्वा धर्मचक्राख्यमुपवासं च शुद्धधीः ॥ ४९७ ॥ अन्यदा सुव्रताख्यायै गणिन्यै विधिपूर्वकम् । दत्वाऽनदानमेतस्या वमने सत्युपोषितात् ॥ ४९८ ॥ सम्यक्त्वाभावतस्तत्र विचिकित्सामगात्ततः । सौधर्मे जीवितस्यान्ते भूत्वा सामानिकामरी ॥ ४९९ ॥ ततो मन्दरमालिन्यां दमितारेः सुताभवः । पुण्याद् व्रतोपवासान्ताद्विचिकित्साफल विदम् ॥ ५०० ॥
सबलं पितरं हत्वा धृत्वा नीतासि दुखिनी। विचिकित्सां न कुर्वन्ति तस्मात्साधी सुधीधनाः ॥५.१॥ दिखाई दिया ।। ४८६ ॥'ये मानस्तम्भ हैं, ये सरोवर हैं, ये चार वन हैं और ये गन्धकुटीके बीचमें कोई जिनराज विराजमान हैं, ऐसा कहते हए अनन्तवीर्य और उनके भाई बलदेव वहाँ उतरे। उतरते ही उन्हें मालूम हुआ कि ये जिनराज, शिवमन्दिरनगरके स्वामी हैं, राजा कनकपुङ्ख और रानी जयदेवीके पुत्र हैं, दमितारिके पिता हैं और कीर्तिधर इनका नाम है। इन्होंने विरक्त होकर शान्तिकर मुनिराजके समीप पारमेश्वरी दीक्षा धारण की थी। एक वर्षका प्रतिमायोग धारण कर जब इन्हें केवलज्ञान प्राप्त हुआ तब इन्द्र आदि देवोंने बड़ी भक्तिसे इनकी पूजा की थी। ऐसा कह कर उन दोनों भाइयोंने जिनराजकी तीन प्रदक्षिणाएँ दी, बार बार नमस्कार किया, धर्मकथाएं सुनी और अपने पापोंको नष्ट कर दोनों ही भाई वहाँ पर बैठ गये ॥४८७-४६१॥ कनकश्री भी उनके साथ गई थी। उसने अपने पितामहको भक्तिपूर्वक नमस्कार किया और घातिया कर्मोको नष्ट करनेवाले उत्त जिनराजसे अपने भवान्तर पूछे ॥ ४२ ॥ ऐसा पूछने पर परोपकार करना ही जिनकी समस्त चेष्टाओंका फल है एसे जिनेन्द्रदेव अपने वचनामृत रूप जलसे कनकश्रीको संतुष्ट करनेके लिए इस प्रकार कहने लगे ॥ ४६३ ॥
इसी जम्बूद्वीपके भरतक्षेत्रकी भूमि पर एक शङ्ख नामका नगर था । उसमें देविल नामका
ता था। उसकी बन्धश्री नामकी स्वीसे त श्रीदत्ता नामकी बडी और सती पत्री हई थी। तेरी और भी छोटी बहिनें थीं जो कुष्ठी, लँगड़ी, टोंटी, बहरी, कुबड़ी, कानी और खंजी थीं। तू इन सबका पालन स्वयं करती थी। तूने किसी समय सर्वशैल नामक पर्वत पर स्थित सर्वयश मुनिराजकी वन्दना की, शान्ति प्राप्त की, अहिंसा व्रत लिया, और परिणाम निर्मल कर धर्मचक्र नामका उपवास किया ॥४६४-४६७॥ किसी दूसरे दिन तूने सुव्रता नामकी आर्यिकाके लिए विधिपूर्वक आहार दिया, उन आर्यिकाने पहले उपवास किया था इसलिए आहार लेनेके बाद उन्हें वमन हो गया और सम्यग्दर्शन न होनेसे तूने उन आर्यिकासे घृणा की। तूने जो अहिंसा व्रत तथा उपवास धारण किया था उसके पुण्यसे तू आयुके अन्तमें मर कर सौधर्म स्वर्गमें सामानिक जातिकी देवी हुई और वहांसे चय कर राजा दमितारिकी मन्दरमालिनी नामकी रानीसे कनकश्री नामकी पुत्री हुई है । तूने आर्यिकासे जो घृणा की थी उसका फल यह हुआ कि ये लोग तेरे बलवान् पिताको मारकर तुझे जबर्दस्ती ले आये तथा तूने दुःख उठाया। यही कारण है कि बुद्धिमान् लोग कभी
