________________ अष्टाविंशतितम पर्व ४१ दिशां 'रावणमाकान्त्याचलग्राहं विभीषणम्। रक्षसामिव सम्पातमतिकायं' महोदरम् ॥७॥ वीचीबाहुभिराघ्नन्तम् अजस्रं तटवेदिकाम् । समर्यादत्वमाहत्य श्रावयन्तमिवात्मनः ॥७९॥ चनद्भिरचलोदः कल्लोलरतितिनम् । सरिद्युवतिसम्भोगाद् असम्मान्तमिवात्मनि ॥८॥ तरङिगतत वृद्धं प्रयुकं व्यक्तरडिगतम् । सरत्नमतिकान्ताडगं सग्राहमतिभीषणम् ॥८॥ लावण्येऽपि न सम्भोग्यं गाम्भीर्येऽप्यनवस्थितम् । महत्त्वेऽपि कृताक्रोश व्यक्तमेव जलाशयम् ॥८२॥ न चास्य मदिरासङगो न कोऽपि मदनज्वरः । तथाप्युद्रिक्त कन्दर्पम् आरूढमधुविक्रियम् ॥८३॥ का अन्य जल ग्रहण करनेके लिये तत्पर रहता था। वह समद्र समस्त दिशाओंमें व्याप्त होकर शब्द कर रहा था इसलिये 'रावण' था, उसने अनेक पहाड़ अपने जलके भीतर डुबा लिये थे इसलिये 'अचलग्राह' था। वह सब जीवोंको भय उत्पन्न कराता था इसलिये विभीषण था, अत्यन्त बड़ा था इसलिये 'अतिकाय' था और बहुत गहरा होनेसे 'महोदर' था इस प्रकार वह ऐसा जान पड़ता था मानो राक्षसोंका समह ही हो। वह समुद्र अपनी तरङ्गरूपी भुजाओं के द्वारा किनारेकी वेदीपर निरन्तर आघात करता रहता था इसलिये ऐसा जान पड़ता था मानो धक्का देकर उसे अपने समर्यादपनेको ही सुना रहा हो । वह पर्वतके समान ऊंची उठती हुई लहरोंसे किनारेको उल्लंघन कर रहा था इसलिये ऐसा जान पड़ता था मानो नदीरूप स्त्रियोंके साथ संभोग करनेसे अपने आपमें ही नहीं समा रहा हो । उसके शरीरमें अनेक तरंगरूपी सिकुड़नें उठ रही थीं इसलिये वह वृद्ध पुरुषके समान जान पड़ता था, (पक्षमें अत्यन्त बड़ा था) अथवा वह समद्र किसी पथक अर्थात् बालकके समान मालूम होता था (पक्षमें पृथु क अधिक है जल जिसमें ऐसा था) क्योंकि जिस प्रकार बालक पृथिवीपर घुटनोंके बल चलता है उसी प्रकार वह समद्र भी लहरोक द्वारा पृथिवीपर चल रहा था, जिस प्रकार बालक सरकता है उसी प्रकार वह भी लहरोंसे सरकता था, जिस प्रकार बालक अत्यन्त सुन्दर होता है उसी प्रकार वह भी अत्यन्त सुन्दर था। इसके सिवाय वह समुद्र मगरमच्छ आदि जलचरजीवों से सहित था तथा अत्यन्त भयंकर था अथवा वह समुद्र स्पष्ट ही जलाशय (ड और ल में अभेद होनेसे जडाशय) अर्थात् मूर्ख था क्योंकि लावण्य रहनेपर भी वह उपभोग करने योग्य नहीं था जो लावण्य अर्थात् सुन्दरतासे सहित होता है वह उपभोग करने योग्य अवश्य होता है परन्तु समद्र वैसा नहीं था (पक्षमें लावण्य अर्थात खारापन होनेसे किसीके पीने योग्य नहीं था) गंभीरता होनेपर भी वह स्थिर नहीं था, जो गंभीरता अर्थात् धैर्यसे सहित होता है वह स्थिर अवश्य रहता है परन्तु समुद्र ऐसा नहीं था (पक्षमें गंभीरता अर्थात् गहराई होनेपर भी वह लहरोंसे चंचल रहता था) और महत्त्वके रहते हुए भी वह चिल्लाता रहता था-गालियां बका करता था, जो महत्त्व अर्थात बड़प्पनसे सहित होता है वह बड़ा शान्त रहता है, चिल्लाता नहीं है परन्तु समुद्र ऐसा नहीं था (पक्षमें बड़ा भारी होनेपर भी लहरोंके आघातसे शब्द करता रहता था) इन सब कारणोंसे स्पष्ट है कि वह जडाशय अवश्य था (पक्षमें जल है आशयमें जिसके अर्थात् जलसे भरा हआ था)। उस समद्रके यद्यपि मद्यका संगम नहीं था-मद्यपानका अभाव था तथापि वह आरूढ मधविक्रिय था अर्थात् मद्यपानसे उत्पन्न होने वाले विकार नशाको धारण कर रहा था. इसी प्रकार यद्यपि उसके काम-ज्वर नहीं था तथापि वह उद्रिक्तकंदर्प था अर्थात तीव्र काम-विकारको धारण करनेवाला था। भावार्थ-इस श्लोक श्लेष १ रौतीति रावणस्तम । शब्दं कर्वन्तमिति यावत् । पक्षे दशास्यम् । २ पर्वतस्वीकारवन्तम् । पक्ष अचलग्राहमिति कञ्चिद् राक्षसम । ३ भयङकरम् । पक्षे रावणानुजम् । ४ अतिशयं मूतिम् महान्तमित्यथः । पक्षे अतिकायमिति कञ्चिदसरम । ५ महाकक्षिम् । पक्षे महोदरमिति राक्षसम् । ६ उत्कटकामम्, पक्षे उत्कटजलदर्पम् । Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
